I Know It's Gonna Be Crazy, But...

So, I had originally planned to go to DLR in August...i.e. not too much after the 60th and timed up with my bday. Well, DH wanted to ski this year and the budget is only going to allow for one set of plane tickets due to holiday season prices (plus I'm planning on doing the Princess Half in 2016, which is peak pricing). Sooooooooo, we're booked at DLR for the time between Christmas and New Year's...specifically, Dec 27-31 (skiing up at Mammoth after that). I hate the timing since I can't afford to splurge on the Disneyland Hotel liked I'd originally planned, but I booked the HoJo...so we should at least be conveniently located.

I know it's going to be holiday crazy, but I have only been to DLR once (2003)- I am drawing a blank on so much- and only really have knowledge of tackling WDW at peak crowds. So, I'm hoping some of you might have some pointers.

I guess at least the one big pro...we'll get to see the parks in all of their holiday glory...which I've heard trumps WDW (which is spectacular in its own right at that time of year). Still, trying to plan for the chaos and any suggestions would be appreciated. :)

I'd recommend taking a look at the Guide to DLR for WDW Veterans thread here - lots of great info:

http://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/guide-to-dlr-for-wdw-veterans.875596/

You'll need to be at the parks before opening each day to make sure you get in the big attractions and don't get shut out of the park if it fills up. Utilize Fastpass or dining package reservations for World of Color and Fantasmic. :)

Thank you! I will check out that thread. Sounds like it will be very useful! :)

Just wondering but are mammoth ski ticket prices the same as disney ticket prices?

More...at least from what I can see with this season's prices. When you add together lift tickets and rentals...for adults...it's looking like $160-180 per day per adult...which seems to be on par with other ski resorts.
