The International House of Pancakes must be starving for some attention.
It's working because the story of how they are dropping the "P" and replacing it with a "b" is all over the internet.

What do you think the "b" will represent?
(The company will reveal the answer on June 11th)

IHOP has revealed what was behind its mysterious tweets last week about changing its name to IHOb, at least temporarily.

The “B” stands for burgers.

The name change kicks in Monday, June 11, along with the launch of a new menu of “Ultimate Steakburgers,” the Glendale-based casual restaurant chain announced in a news release.

The brand has “flipped the ‘p’ to a ‘b’ in their iconic name for the time being, including its Twitter handle,” the news release reads.

Other than the Twitter handle, IHOb didn’t reveal details about its rebranding, including the cost or how it would affect more than 1,750 IHOP restaurants worldwide.

But it revealed a lineup of seven Steakburgers.

  • Big Brunch: Hickory-smoked bacon, fried egg, potato, American cheese and a “delicious new signature burger sauce.”
  • Cowboy BBQ: Two onion rings, bacon, American cheese, lettuce, tomato and barbecue sauce.
  • Jalapeño Kick: Sautéed jalapeños, Serrano peppers and onion, bacon, pepperjack cheese, lettuce, tomato, and jalapeño mayo.
  • Mushroom & Swiss: Sautéed mushrooms and onions, Swiss cheese and mayo.
  • The Classic: American cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles and Steakburger sauce.
  • The Classic with Bacon: Only bacon can improve on an American classic, which is made with hickory-smoked bacon, melting American cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles and the brand’s burger sauce.
  • Mega Monster: Two Steakburger patties, American and White Cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles and Steakburger sauce.<<

Thank you, Darkbeer1 for sharing the answer. :)

Although I love a good burger, I'm kinda disappointed that they're turning into a burger place. I've always liked pancake house restauants, and I also love places that serve breakfast items all day--not easy to find anymore.

I don't think it's turning into a burger place, it's just a marketing thing to show they have new burgers on their menu. It's still gonna be IHOP besides that, and I bet the IHOb name won't last past this month.
