I have an annual pass....what happens when I get MyMagic+

I don't know if there's an actual downside to getting MyMagic+. Sure, there are some things about it that I don't like, but on the whole are there any downsides?

I don't want to surrender my actual plastic card pass, because I'm afraid one day I'll want to drive down to the parks to go for a walk, or on one ride & forget I left my band at home on the table....

The plastic card you receive with your MagicBand is for parking (if applicable) and merchandise discounts and cannot be used for admission. You can continue to use your existing plastic RF AP card in addition to your MagicBand.

Good thing I also got a plastic card when I renewed at Guest Relations at Epcot..

If that happened I'd be wondering how on earth I got in the park and on the ride without my AP in the first instance :).

In answer to your question though, I'm sure I've read somewhere that you have the choice of card or band? We bought our Premium AP's last October when the only option was a plastic card and we're currently waiting for our bands to be delivered so have the option of both. I suppose if you keep your AP card in your wallet or purse it's more convenient to have it with you for 'unscheduled visits', otherwise it's just the same as having to remember your card when you go.

If you have a plastic RFID card already linked to your MDE profile, it should work the same as a Band and be just as interchangeable indefinitely for accessing whatever current admission ticket you have linked to your profile, and the FP+ options you make.

My AP expired back in November, but the RFID card associated with it is still listed on my MDE profile. Presumably when I'm down there in October I could use this card as well as the Band I will get with the resort reservation to access my 8-day MYW ticket.

1) If you don't get an RFID enabled CARD - ask for one.
2) If they won't give you one, get a PAPER HARDCOPY RECEIPT for your AP. Carry it with you ALWAYS.
3) If denied admission, produce the receipt at Customer Relations - then ask for compensation, or a refund.

This is a great idea. Thanks.

I've been giving it some thought and I'd much rather prefer a card for the theme parks, but would like a wristband for the water parks.

They all work the same if they are linked to your account, just got my bands and am able to do fp+ for any type of ticket.

At the very least keep the card in your wallet. I consider the card the actual AP. The MB is a convenience. I was glad I brought my card on my last trip--I lost my MB! The card continued to give me access to everything.

It wouldn't matter if you lost the card or band with AP. You are in the system. I had to show photo ID when purchasing my PAP. They should have no issue looking you up by your photo id.

True but I could "hit the ground running" with the card. Plus when I got back to the room, I had my KTTW card to get in. Worry about a new MB in the morning.
