I give World of Color 2 of 5.

If it didn't do right what it did right so well, it would have been less.

1. The wait. If not all party members have activated their tickets for the day, no fastpasses. So, this guranteed us a 12 hour day. No way around it.

2. The wait II. Fastpass times were 75-45 minutes before show time. We have two handicapped members of our party that don't feel like taking advantage of Disney's ride assistance program. That's a long wait.

3. The view. We sprinted at the rope drop to get fastpasses and ended up in a side section. We arrived an hour early, and still filled the back corner of the viewing area. There was so much crap in our way, I counted 7 view obstructions. Way too many.

4. The size of the show. After boasting how high the fountains sprayed and how big it all would be, the projections were so low, the only good view for ANYBODY that I could see were for people 6'3" and taller or kids riding shoulders. When nobody can see, what's the point?

5. I've seen all these movies before. Giving me a bunch of movie clips sprayed on water and having that be more than 50% of the show doesn't show creativity, it shows laziness.

6. Why are you adding pyrotechnics to this show? It goes from being a beautiful show of water and light to a smokey dirty mess. Why ruin what could be billed as a clean and green show with that?

7. The good stuff. Here is what gives me the ability bump this thing up to two. The beginning and end were amazing, taking full advantage of the colors and fountains. They included the kaleidoscope from the show intro. Sadly, they never included the original audio though.

We saw it. Glad we did. Will probably never see it again. For a show of fluid, there wasn't much flow. Too bad, I was really excited too.

What was better than the show, was just watching the glowing water as we left the viewing area.

I would agree with your rating. I saw it last week and that was pretty much the opinion of are whole group- young and old....

I miss the old Disneyland Hotel water show.

Well, I do too for the pure 1970's shmaltz that it offered. For those too young to remember, the Disneyland Hotel installed a small amphitheater with a dancing waters show in a corner of the hotel in the early 1970's. It did nightly dancing waters shows set to Disney music. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Su6sxZ1G3ds

I'll just let that YouTube video of Fantasy Waters speak for itself. :zipit:

As for World of Color, I've done the meal option with Fastpass several times and it always works well for me. You don't have to be there at park opening for that, you can just stroll up at dinner time and get your Fastpasses and have dinner.

I didn't get to see the show, but I have a feeling that I would've given the same rating. The line was incerdibly long. I saw some hotel guests looking from their room. I'd rather be there:rolleyes:

It wasn't the original audio. It was some popish redo.

Actually gerryu is correct - the show begins with the original audio including the "Walt Disney presents..." intro. The only pop-ish rendition of the song is used as exit music after the show ends.

Anyway, thank you for sharing your honest opinion of the show. Even though I disagree with most of your thoughts, it's always interesting to learn about people's opinions of the show - whether good or bad.

I haven't seen WoC in person yet, so I guess I'm not really qualified to comment here, but I have to say that based on what I have seen on YouTube and elsewhere, nothing about the show really grabs me. I mean, it looks like a nice "dancing waters" type show, but people have been describing it as being such an astonishing and "amazing" (very overrused word in my opinion) attraction. Your description kind of confirms that for me. Maybe on my next visit, I'll take advantage of the show time by hitting as many attractions as I can while the show is running.

Be careful about making such comments on here you will be attacked by the California people, lol. JK

I have not seen it but I have to agree with you. I watched a HD video that my friend shot of it recently and honestly I was bored. I do not find sitting looking at water with animation on it exciting. I To me, the attraction seems backward.

None the less, California is getting lots of updates and WDW is still well stagnant except "Girl land"

^ The difference here is that the OP actually saw the show live before sharing his review.

Nothing wrong with saying you don't like the show, just try and see it in person before saying you were bored with the video you saw

Nothing compares to seeing the massive fountains and vibrant color right in front of you in person... I saw about .2 seconds of video before seeing it in person and probably wouldn't have thought much of it if I kept watching. But I've seen the show twice and I LOVE it. You've got to be there to really experience it.

The man problem is that most of the action takes place on the lower 1/4 of the water screen. If they had projected in the middle of the water screens, I would have been much happier.

The fact that I could only hold one kid over my head at a time to see the focus of the show was a major downer.

I agree. You viewing location is really important with WoC. The first time I saw it I was in the yellow section all the way in the back. The second time I was in blue, smack dab in the center with nothing but the fountains in front of me. I had a much better experience when I was up close and could see everything.

I miss the old Disneyland Hotel water show.

You rip World of Color........and then claim you miss that pathetic little water show.

There's a reason World of Color is so popular, and such a tough show to get into.

They couldn't even get people to leave their hotel rooms 300 feet away to see that Disneyland Hotel water show. It was a total dud!!!!

Come on.....................get real.

Dancing Waters is one of those things that I think a lot of people remember as better than it actually was (same with Horizons in my opinion, but that's another discussion). But for the time, Dancing Waters was pretty cool. If they were to debut it now and there was a lot of hoopla surrounding it, then yes it would be a total joke.

Wow, get bent much?

It was intimate. It was clean. Had great flow -- which this new show has NONE of.

It could easily be a 5 of 5 if they increased the size of the projection, and actually created a watershow instead of just movies on a spray wall. It lacks any imagination at all for about 85% of the show. Heck, it recycles film clips from the show just across the walkway in Rivers of America.

I thought it was great. The movie clips always get old after a while, but what Disney nighttime show doesn't do that except for Illuminations? Its all about the water and the color.

However, I will say that the show has been a little unnecessarily overhyped.

The hype has been epic, no doubt about that.

But I think it's important to remember that for the previous nine years DCA was saddled with things that mostly ranged from "cheap crap" to "mildly entertaining mediocrity".

DCA finally, after nine long years, has an unprecedented hit on their hands. Some extra hype was to be expected, considering where that park had come from.
