I'm sorry to say this, but since the writers are on strike and now the actors are going to be most likely to go on strike, I feel like it's the end of Hollywood. Because if these strikes don't end, all studios will go bankrupt and there won't be anymore movies, tv shows, animated features and cartoons. I blame those self centered executives for their greedy behaviors of this stupid A.I. If this strike is not going to end, then I think it's the end of Hollywood. Tell me if I'm overreacting!😢

IMHO, this is just a stage of what's been happening to Hollywood for a couple of decades as the economic sustainability of production has shifted away from California. We have groups that have "made it" into the modern equivalents of guilds attempting to restrict what they see as thier turf from external competition and control the economics in thier favor.

The other is streaming is not really working for any part of the paradigm…and they all know it

Man, this is just ridiculous! Those greedy sourpusses better hurry up and negotiate or else Hollywood is doomed!

Honestly, if they're both going to be on strike, doing it at the same time seems like the most convenient way for everyone.

It's not like much work was going to be getting done by the actors while the writers are on strike, anyway.

Some of the issues are similar and I feel like together, they stand a better chance of getting some of what they want from the studios.

... But the last major strike is what brought us the glut of "reality" TV that has plagued us to this day so not looking forward to that becoming an even bigger piece of the pie while all of this gets hashed out.

The last strike all but killed the sitcom and did major damage to dramas as well

This combined with the shorting of “seasons” now may make tv essentially useless

Except sports and morons lying to a handpicked audience and calling it “news”

Just like any strike in any other industry. There is too much money to be made by both sides and they would never let it fold.
