Can somebody please explain to me this.

We are going to use a week from my parents timeshare to stay at DVC (probably wilderness lodge, thanks to previous posts!) in september. They have a condo in colorado and get "extra" weeks for upgrading and stuff like that, that can be used anywhere really through Interval International.

So, if we book through interval i guess? How do we go about getting tickets/and the dining plan? Anybody have any experience with this?

Thanks, really appreciate the help! i'm clueless!

I posted the same question about 2 weeks ago and never got a reply. Maybe you'll have better luck. I, too, am wondering if there is any way to get the dining plan if you have used Interval to exchange for a DVC property. Good luck!

I don't have an answer, sorry, but here's what I'd suggest. Once you make your reservations, you'll get a confirmation number sent to you by mail. Once you have that confirmation number, you can call 407 W-Disney and inquire about paying for tickets (and, if possible, dining).

I know DVC members are eligible to get the dining plan for each night they stay at a DVC resort, so if you're using time share exchange through Interval to trade for DVC points, I can't see why they wouldn't let you add on the dining plan. Probable worst case scenario, you'll just have to add it on once you get there.

I am not sure whether non-dvc members can get the dinning plan or not but I do know that the dinning plan absolutely has to be added prior to arrival.

Its difficult trading into DVC. If you are willing to accept any DVC at WDW such as SSR or OKW then you will have a greater chance of getting in. Put your request in now as it could several months. September is a slow month thus you have a chance.

Tickets are purchased on their own through Disney, either in advance or when you get there.

If you want the dining plan once you have a DVC reservation you can call and let them know you want the dining plan. Once you arrive you then pay for the dining plan which they add to your key card.

The most difficult thing is actually trading into DVC. :)

I just booked our Dec trip with DVC and while I was on the line I asked about this.

According to members services, anyone staying at a DVC can get the dining plan. The call Vacation Club directly to have to added, but it must be done prior to arrival.

Thanks!

Thanks for all the input. Once we've figured out the reservation I will call and see about adding it!!

Well, I happened upon an available room at Saratoga Springs for Christmas, and I immediately traded into it (via Interval)! The confirmation email included a number to call to add the dining plan (800-800-9800). I called to ask when we needed to decide about the plan, and was told that we can add it in any time before we arrive, and then we pay for it upon check in. It will be for all of the people in the room, for all nights of the reservation.

We are so excited!
