I committed treason against WDW, but or good reason!

Totally anecdotal, but years ago I saw a rat eating nacho cheese in the queue for Splash Mountain in the mid-afternoon.

Mickey's relative, I assumed.

Gross! Mickey's deformed, mutant, disgusting relative.

Once and elderly woman had an "accident" in front of Cinderella's castle. The smell mixed with the heat almost made me pass out and vomit at the same time.

ANYWAYS, back to the discussion.

The first time I did USO and IOA I was so disappointed that when I went back the second time I loved it. But overall, I did notice some of the things you mentioned like paint problems and such. But I just had to realize that it's not Disney and it never will be. When I realized that, I had a lot more fun. Though HP was themed better than everything else, it almost didn't match the rest of the park. That is how good the theming was. The other islands can't keep up.

if you go into it thinking "i'm team disney no matter what" of course you're gonna be comparing the 2 & u will have a bad time at universal because in your head, its no disney...u just have to enjoy the universal parks on their own for what they are. we just got back from a trip where we went to the disney parks & both universals for the first time ever. honestly, we had a better time at universal. the rides were fun & we really enjoyed ourselves. & they weren't as packed as the disney parks which helped ;) the first time we ever went to universal, my husband was cranky & had it in his head that disney would be better no matter what. so we had a bad time because of his attitude. this time, i tried to get him to open his eyes a bit & enjoy uni for what it is & like i said we had a better time on both of our universal days than we had on our disney days. being open-minded pays off. with that said, i can't wait to go back to universal & i was very impressed with both of their parks =)

I understand that a lot of Disney fans go into Uni bound and determined to have a miserable time. And they do. Shocking.

If Disney were knocking them out of the park one after another, then their fans wouldn't feel so defensive.
