@jdmdisney99 they have the rights for the small scene for GMR but I think it was limited to just that use for that ride exclusively from what I remember reading. This why you haven't seem them do anything with Oz anywhere else in the park. I could be wrong but though.

Why would I make that deal? I'm just speculating to my knowledge and the best of my ability and think it's vapor right now.

I see your new to the boards, so I'll let it go. Don't put yourself out there unless your prepared to back it up. BTW, I'll take Disney's "vapor" over your hot air any day!

@cowanfamily you haven't chimed in on Oz Land. What is your take? Can they pull it off? Is it something guests want in the park? Does my vision fit the bill? We know Avatar is coming just don't know to what degree. They are holding back to WOW us. or they have no solid plan as of yet. I am guessing they will be going with the WOW factor since they NEED to so they can compete with the neighbors. So back to my beloved Oz Land... :)

It would be nice, but I don't see it happening. They just "expanded" FL. Avatar is going to AK. It's rumored Carsland to HS. That leaves EPCOT without any major work. But Oz doesn't fit the themeing there.

I'm not new to the internet in general and I've read these boards for a while. I never said I would leave this site, only that Avatar has had zero mention since it's initial announcement and I doubt their grand plans for creating a whole Pandoraland will ever happen. I stand by that.

Sorry I struck a chord with you. Clearly this is a sensitive topic. Been waiting a real long time for anything on this crappy idea to happen?

Nope, you didn't strike a chord at all. I just think you should put your money where your mouth is. It's real easy to attack people on message boards, it's a lot harder to back up your words. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that your pretty non-confrontational outside of a message board or a text. It's easy to hide behind a keyboard and rip someone.

I'm not confrontational. I just state what I feel. Where I'm from we value honesty and directness in conversation above all else... because that is how you accomplish things. Being honest might seem confrontational to you but to me it's entirely natural to me. I'm not going to sweet talk you if I disagree. I'm direct. I think that would be reflected in the number of "likes" I've already gained in my short time being here (I'm not bragging, simply pointing out that clearly I try to post things of value and enjoying discussing ideas). That doesn't really speak to me being confrontational on here. I don't need your psych 101 analysis of my manner, thank you.

Money where my mouth is? So because I have an opinion and a forecast on something that is different than yours I'm therefore inferring that it's all or nothing and that I'd be willing to die by it? I think that's fairly immature.

Before you say "money where my mouth is" again please point out exactly where I said I would leave this forum forever if I was wrong, because that's what that phrase means. You're the one that proposed "I'll make a deal with you" out of nowhere. I thought that was a little extreme and childish. (This is my honest opinion, not me attacking you - for future reference). I didn't suggest this idea and I don't need to "stand by" whatever anyone dares me to do nor do I need to make every "bet" somebody proposes. I'm not 12 years old.

Also please point out where I "attacked" you. Or anyone. Please. I'd love to know where I did that.

Fairly sure I attacked the concept of an Avatarland and the idea that it's going to happen as originally planned or at all anytime soon. I think it's fair game to attack a concept or idea on a forum where we discuss ideas. Just because you like an idea that I don't or believe something will happen that I disagree with doesn't mean that I'm attacking on you.

You need to stop taking everything so personally. It's a proposed idea for a theme park attraction based on a passé movie with little cultural impact outside of the box office gain it earned by touting a gimmick.

It's not your child.

Just a question @DisneyGuyNYC.. Since I am not up on all the Disney Plans from the past. Were any of the above ever mentioned formally by Disney that they were moving forward with it and it was coming to the parks? And if so can you please provide links to them?

Yes some were formally announced and quietly dropped and others were leaked plans that were either in the later stages of development and couldn't find funding/the Imagineers lost interest or were leaked because of Disney's inquiries into land and capital/resources.

Beastly Kingdom is probably everyone's favorite.

More information can be found at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Disney_attractions_that_were_never_built

Wikipedia isn't a great source but if you scroll to the bottom and click the links in the footnotes it will take you to the more reliable sources with even more information on each attraction.

This site has some great photos:
http://disneyandmore.blogspot.com/2008/05/wikipedia-list-of-never-built-disney.html

Alternatively you can simply Google each attraction for information and concept art for each. It's pretty depressing to say the least.

Avatar has followed the pattern pretty spectacularly.

They're starting full construction on Disney Springs a month after the announcement. It's been two years since any discussion of Avatar since being announced and three years since that movie came out. I think that speaks for itself.

If anything gets built it will be a single ride.
