You won't need a carpet ride just close your eyes and imagine you are walking down Main Street in the Magic Kingdom. You are looking at your map while taking I'm the sights and sounds and smells around you. You see Adventure Land, Frontier Land, Tomorrow Land, Fantasy Land and what to your eyes appears... Oz Land.

Off in the distance you see Cinderella's castle before you, as you Near it, behind that off in the distance you see beasts castle and Rapunzel's Tower, as you pass through Fantasy Land in the distance you see the Emerald Castle as well as Glinda's Castle, near the edge you see the Dark Forest, and even China town. To get to Oz's Emerald Castle you pass through Story Book circus which is fitting since this is where Oz got his start. It's a mix of current looks and characters as well as the circus style side shows of that era. After you pass through Story Book Circus you come to the yellow brick road which leads through China town which has homes of tea cups and such filled with shiny porcelain people you pass over Bridges with flowing water and breathtaking mountains and florals everywhere.

A path leads to the dark forest where it's dark, heavily treed with dead black and gray trees, mysterious noises and creatures , moving in the distance, a cemetery, caves, fog, bubbling swamps and the wicked witches Lair with a thrilling scary dark ride similar to the original version of Snow White, mixed with what they did with the technology of WWoHP and the dementors but instead with flying scary monkeys and new Disney tech we haven't seen yet. It will only be for the brave souls that dare to venture to it.

A path to Munchkin land where you will find Glinda's Castle. And of course Munchkins everywhere. Every so often a loud echo of the wicked witches laugh will echo across the land and all the munchkins will be in fear and hide and interact with the guests. A showdown of good and evil will take place once per day between the good witch and bad in the center of Munchkin Land in place of a parade. Pyro and smoke and great costumes and stage actors will interact with the crowd that will assemble around the center of the showdown. A witch could fly In and in a puff of smoke could appear in the center of town and disappear in the same fashion. A ride and restaurant could be themed here.

As you take the final path you pass giant emeralds piercing put of the rock work and land around you. they also glow green at night along with the castle. you come to Oz's Castle. Almost as big as Cinderella's castle. Guards are marching everywhere. Flame torches burn here and there. A ride can take you through Oz's castle to try to find the Great and Powerful Oz. it would be a thrilling family ride. Whimsical and fun, fast as well where they take you through the entire land of oz. could be similar to a 4D people mover of sorts. You feel the mist of the water falls you pass by, smell the scent of fields of flowers, feel the cold of the dark forest, and the warmth of the sun as you fly down the yellow brick road. Or it could even be done as a cool boat ride like pirates taking you through the castle showing you the love story of Oz and Glenda.

Disney shouldn't and can't afford to miss this great opportunity they have. I have always dreamed of one day visiting Oz in a theme park and never understood why no one has done it yet. It's a classic that was born so many years ago and is still as lively now as it was then and it will live on forever. Disney has its princesses and pirates they now can get their witches both good and bad, as well as wizards. Yes Disney has its HP swatter and it could and should be Oz. the merchandise is endless, the characters are memorable and cherished by all, the settings can be created and is something people want to see and experience.

Sure the Fantasy Land expansion is nice and welcomed. I don't think people are making a trip just to see it. I do think they are looking forward on their next trip to see it. If they make Oz Land I think you will see many making the trip just to see it. I know I would.

Disney, I hope you read this and I really hope you see the vision. I hope you make the vision come to light and do it in a way that is beyond our wildest imaginations. Because its been to long that this hasn't been done and there is no better time than now and no better company than you to do it. This AND Avatar Land will make Disney the premier destination it is meant to be for many years to come.

Yes I just saw the movie. I enjoyed the classic and I think Disney did a great job with the new one. The story was great, settings were beautiful and stunning, characters made you laugh and cry, I was pleasantly surprised. I went in with low expectations and walked out knowing it was money well spent and can't wait to see the next one. I also can't wait to walk down Main Street and make my way to Oz Land someday too.

Thanks @All Disney All The Time I would move from NY to FL in a heartbeat to share my vision and get paid for it. I would just need enough to live and access to the parks for my fiancée (soon to be wife) and daughter and son and myself and I'm there. :)

I too would move to FL and would just die if I could hook up a job at WDW, but alas I have a "particular set of skills" that pay me well but offer no opportunity at Disney.
But seriously, your vision is remarkable.

I love the idea of Oz, however I would put it in HS and base it off the original. Having said that I have not seen the new one so I could watch it, be blown away and 2 thumbs up the idea. You write very descriptively. Do you have any engineering skills?

If you are not an Avatar fan,(which apparently someone is because the movie did EXTREMLY well) I could see why you would be disappointed. I am not a Star Wars fan, yet I am not calling to have all traces of it removed. Some people enjoy Avatar and are looking forward to it. Also let's not forget there is a sequel and "threequel" due to be released in December 2014.... hmmmm I can assure you they will be well on the way to constructing by then. On a side note...I am not an Avatar fan however I also do not require WDW to be 100% only what I would wish.

This? History also said that Lincoln was a horrible president at the time of his death. Don't confuse your personal feelings with history. ;)
What are you talking about? There has been no evidence they have or are moving forward with Avatar. They announced it years ago and nothing has been mentioned or shown. The current rumor from insider reports is it will just be one ride and a shop.

Avatar isn't coming, and my personal feelings about that are joy.

Thanks everyone for your kind words. @powlessfamily4 No I do not have any engineering skills. But I would go to school to learn if it landed me a job at WDW and it couldn't be based off of the original from what I understand. I believe the rights are owned by someone else. But nonetheless Disney can do an amazing job with the rights they have to the series of books and with the movie they just released. I was worried that having flying monkeys and even munchkins in the parks could scare little ones. But Disney could do it in a way like they did the Haunted Mansion, ToT, and even Star Wars that is intriguing and exciting that little ones might brave an attraction to see them and walk away realizing they aren't so scary after all. Yes some kiddos find the characters from Star Wars scary. Nothing would be forced upon them just like Disney doesn't force anything scary upon guests now. They could even play on the idea that Mickey has banished all the Villains to the witches lair and create a dark and spooky area in the dark forest filled with all the Villains along with the wicked witch. The possibilities are endless there.

I am an Avatar fan. What makes Avatar special in my mind is it brought us to a whole new land never before seen or even imagined. And as you can see I have a wild imagination. It introduced new characters that we have never before seen or imagined. They were far off my vision of an Alien but yet they were mystifying with their special abilities, they were beautiful. This was probably the first time in my life I can recollect being attracted to a computer animated character, excluding Tink but that stems back to my childhood crush. :) I think Disney is going through with Avatar. They have it plastered on their website, They have talked about it in interviews publicly, So for them to back down now and not go through the project would be very detrimental to them and their reputation especially with the huge expansion and excitement building for Potter Land across the road.

The point of my post was to get people to visualize the potential that Disney has. Maybe even get someone at Disney's gears rolling to see the opportunity they are sitting on and the vision that a typical guest is looking for when it comes to a new land.

I'll make a deal with you. If they don't break ground on Avatar within a year of this post, I will close my account and leave this website. However, if they do. You must close yours and never be heard from again on this website.

Why would I make that deal? I'm just speculating to my knowledge and the best of my ability and think it's vapor right now.

@cowanfamily you haven't chimed in on Oz Land. What is your take? Can they pull it off? Is it something guests want in the park? Does my vision fit the bill? We know Avatar is coming just don't know to what degree. They are holding back to WOW us. or they have no solid plan as of yet. I am guessing they will be going with the WOW factor since they NEED to so they can compete with the neighbors. So back to my beloved Oz Land... :)
