While at Epcot today, I bought the new Happiest Celebration on Earth version of Pal Mickey. This thing is totally awesome. Everywhere I went around the park, he always had something to say. And when I had to wait in line at some of the attractions, I took advantage of his games. The coolest thing though was when I left the park, he said good night and said he had to go to sleep. Plus he came all dressed up in a little tuxedo so that was pretty neat. If you don't own Pal Mickey yet or just want to upgrade the one you have, this is what you need to buy, it makes the parks so much more fun.

How much better is he than the first one? And, Do they give you a price break if you turn in your old one and upgrade to the new one? I know the second answer is probably no, but it'd be nice if they did. It figures that after I finally break down and buy one (after several trips of wanting him), they announce a newer, better one.
I never owned the first one so I wouldn't be able to compare it or anything. I did save $13 though on it with me being a WDW Cast Member. Its normal retail price is $65.tigger248 said:

Do you guys really think it's worth spending the $65 on? I've kindof wanted one for a while now, especially as something new since we go so often. But will it be cool for a while, or will it become just another thing to carry around the park?

I got a heck of a lot of enjoyment out of 1.0 and I want to get the HCOE edition. There isn't any kind of trade-in or upgrade option for getting the new one. After May 5th, AP holders will get $5 off and a AP exclusive t-shirt for their Pal (fits him, not you) but that's about it.
When I go for my birthday, I want to get one and I'll write up a comparative between the first and the second. A few earlier reports on www.palmickey.net have said he's nice, but doesn't seem louder then 1.0 (HCOE is supposed to be) and his head is larger and less "plushy." (i.e. you can feel his electronics more)
I think Pal Mickey's fun. And cute. And I brought him with me to the 'World about a dozen times and enjoyed the experience.

It would be so cool if Pal Mickey could like "remember what hes already said" and if they put a bluetooth chip in him then they could update him with new facts and trivia! I wonder, if he can tell you que times then can they update his facts and such?

I think they should have Pal Mickey where you can teach him sentences, let him learn your name... Tell you what he's thinking, along with all the other features he has... Kinda like the old Furbys :lol:

Anyway....some of the new Pal Mickey's are already on Ebay....at regualar price. There are some old Pal Mickey's on there for fairly cheap though.

Will they ever come out with PalDonald, PalGoofy, PalMinnie, PalStitch *gasp*, etc.? I thought I heard rumors about this before but I'm not sure.
I'm still debating weither to get a PalMickey or not. I don't have kids so I might look weird walking around with one. Then again, I am the loser that spent $300 on stuffed Disney characters. :hammer:

The rumor was shortly after 1.0 came out and they saw how popular it was that the second - Pal Pooh - was going to make a premier. Pooh was ranked as the second best-selling character and therefore the next logical choice in the article. But, they never pushed forward with it for some reason. I imagine that if they ever did a second, it'd be Stitch at this point.Sledge said:

I think I might get him on my next trip in Nov. Since this is the HCOE PalMIckey I assume he tells you things regarding the HCOE. But what happens after the celebration is over? Will he still say things regarding HCOE? Tho Im sure by then they'll prolly have an even newer version out.
