I always think I need new sneakers for a trip

Does anyone else get the urge to buy new sneakers/shoes when planning a trip? It always seems like such a good idea since I will be walking so much. Then I remember the times I did and how bad my feet hurt from breaking them in. Nonetheless I found myself looking at the $179 Nikes yesterday and was thinking how great my feet would feel in them. HaHa. I would normally laugh at the idea of sneakers that expensive but when Disney is involved somehow it seems justifiable. In the end I did not buy them but my wife got decent pair of Nikes that were on sale. We leave in 2 days so I advised her to wear them as much as possible before then!

Oh yeah this is me all over the place. Actually, I think it is that my hubby only acknowledges my need of new shoes when we are about to go to Disney. It has been almost 3 years now so my doctor had to actually say to go buy new shoes. Otherwise I would still be being told to wait a while longer! Haha!

No, no, no...never new shoes...old, worn and comfortable are the key. Get a new set of gel inserts for comfort, maybe new, padded, moisture wicking socks, new underwear even...but, speaking from experience and the memory of wearing new shoes...just say no.

For $179 I'd be wanting hover sneakers..You know the ones that don't touch the ground..Dang..They haven't been invented yet..This is still 2013.. Thats what I get for buying an old beat up DeLorian with a clapped out Flux Capacitor........
Always have a mechanic check the flux capacitor before making an offer on a Delorean. Parts for those things are so hard to find.

I bring a pair of old tennis shoes and a pair of new ones that I buy just for the trip but break them in before hand.
I did design my own Nikes on their website and they were too perfect, but then I remembered that Nikes hurt my feet like none other, so that saved me $140!
By now, I know what works on my feet and what doesn't. At least, I should know.

I always get a new pair a month or two before the trip which gives me a chance to really get them feeling comfortable. I never take a chance of wearing something that will affect my trip by causing uncomfortable blisters or foot sores. Theres some part of my psyche that says a Disney trip deserves new shoes, so it's built into the budget for Disney trip costs.

I do the SAME thing LOL If they're comfortable, then they're for me!! Look at it this way ..... its better to spend big bucks on a good pair of sneakers and be comfortable, than to spend $$$$$$$ on a Disney vacation and can't enjoy it, because your feet are sore!!

Two pair actually. I learned that lesson after getting the sole pair I took with me soaked on one trip. The first pair is broken in and back in the closet for our December trip. The second will get a week or two of wear and be put away.
