We're heading down in a few weeks and wondering how bad is it. We're most concerned about going to UNI in the morning for rope drop there. Thank you

I-4 Is a mess construction 24-7 from south of Uni to North of Orlando. I drive I-4 Daily just from the Turnpike to Universal Blvd in the evening it can take 30+ minutes to go 1 mile, in the morning it's just as bad I dispatch concrete trucks to Universal Blvd daily and we have to add an extra 15-20 min to our travel time to compensate for the construction mess.

If you are staying at WDW take Buena Vista to Hotel Plaza Blvd, turn left on Apopka Vineland, then a right on Palm Parkway (this turns into Turkey Lake Rd @ Central Florida parkway) this will take you to Sand Lake Rd cross over Sand Lake (7-11 on your right, Chick Fil-A on the left) keep going north past Wallace Rd to Hollywood Way turn right and follow to the Universal Parking Garages.

^^^^This!

The Palm Parkway bypass route is a must when coming from the Disney area. (Just be careful when trying to get past Disney Springs, there's still a lot of construction along there)

If you have the Waze GPS app on your phone, you can also use it to keep an eye on what traffic is doing. It'll route you around traffic as needed.

Yep also depending on where they are staying a short cut to by pass Buena Vista is take Bonnet Creek Pkwy to Disney Vacation way this will dump you out on Buena Vista over by Saratoga Springs, and the next traffic light is Hotel Plaza blvd. With this route you will bypass all traffic from DHS, Epcot, most resort busses heading down Buena Vista, ect... This is a great route if you are staying at resorts off the monorail, or resorts near Epcot (Riverside, French Quarter, Old key West, ect..) it will allow you to get quick access to the exit of Disney.

I hate I-4. Please Florida Department of Transportation do something! What is needed is a new Northern Interstate into Orlando from Jacksonville entering the Orlando area between Downtown Orlando and Walt Disney Would.

Once the Wekiva Parkway (429) is completed you will get off I-4 In Sanford and take that south all the way past Disney (Get off on Western Way) to get back onto I-4 the downside we are still 4-5 years away from this job being completed just in time for the I-4 competition date as well.

The other downside is that the 429 is a toll road and the express lanes on I-4 will be toll lanes as well.

I will happily pay a toll not to wait in traffic on my way to Walt Disney World.

I agree 100% it takes me 20 min from my house in Ocoee to hit any of the parks or resorts at WDW using the 429 it's so nice.

What is bad for me is that we driven 6 hours from South Carolina to get to Walt Disney World. Now you are less then 10 miles from the park and you have been sitting in traffic for an hour. A lot of unhappy Disney fans in the car.

Once a year, I go to WDW. Usually don't stay at a WDW-owned hotel, so I take a taxi from the airport to WDW. The taxi drivers always take 429 and it's the best way to go. Truly, I cannot remember the last time any of the taxi drivers drove me via I-4.

Induced demand. Additional highway capacity rarely reduces congestion.

Why not take FL 417 from Sanford to Walt Disney World around Orlando? Another option might be to pass I-4 on I-95 and instead cut west on FL 528 from which you could take to FL 417 or I-4 at SeaWorld.
