Hydro planting doesn’t only provide fertilization to the plants it also sucks the toxins and nitrates out of the pond, this year I finally built a proper hydro planting system now popular from outer sources, I discovered this at Epcot and bought it home. If you like basil well it grows like a weed and have plenty for what I need at least once a week from one plant. There also up high on a pergola so no animals can get to them, haven’t seen any squirrels on there and I don’t want to jinx it, I think there afraid of the water.

That’s awesome! My son loves basil and I love parsley, we could eat it by the bushel. I love the height keeping critters at bay and helping clean nitrates from the water.

At first I read that as taking some ‘hydro planing ideas’ 😂

Thanks and no not at all, haven’t touched it since I put the sprouts in. I have a water polishing filter in the back which is the only thing I check, it kept debris from getting caught in the roots and causing buildup and spillover

That's fantastic. You must check PH and nutrient concentration? Or is the balance between fish/plant carefully designed so you don't have to?

I just built a pergola, planted grape vines at the base....

My levels have been so good I don’t trust my testing kit and I’ve tried a few of them, it’s to good to be true
