I know for a fact that the "hydralators" do move about an inch... It has been in guidebooks, the Inside Out Show and several other things... The floor also moves creating the illusion of a longer desention, the effect if not payed very close attention to is quite effective... here is proof... an exert from Birnbaums guide states "Visitors enter "hydralators" special elevator-like capsules that create the illusion of diving deep under the sea while actually descending only about an inch" well.. there ya go.. I don't know about the exit elevators though...they may be stable... find someone to ask!
