Hydration Bottles?

Hey there all,

I am looking at different hand held hydration bottles to carry with me on my long runs. I have looked at the insulated Camelbak and the Nathan. Does anyone out there use one and if you do what's your preference? Thanks for your help!

I use an Amphipod handheld bottle, which I like, but it's not insulated.

For longer runs I use a Camelbak backpack, which I like.

Camelbak is my favorite I think...

Not handheld but I use an iFitness belt. I keep extra bottles in a cooler at my house for longer runs. Probably should get a Camelbak.

I had the same question so I’m also keeping an eye on this thread. I have never brought water with me on a training run, but with these longer training runs coming up for the full marathon I’m going to need to. I have an iFitness belt but not one with the bottles. Does the weight of the water make the belt jostle around much? I hate when thing don’t say in place as I run.

It all depends on the belt. If you wear them snug, not really. I feel that my Camelbaks (for skiing) move around way to much when I run with them. I do find that mine with bounce a bit if I don't site it properly, but shifting it a bit corrects that.

I kept mine snug on my hip bones (not around my waist) and it seems to stay in place. You may notice the jostling of the water the first few times you use it but then you get used to it.

The first time you use it, you probably will notice it, but if you keep it snug, you get used to it and forget about it.

Thanks for all your suggestions. I ended up ordering an Amphipod hydrafoam thermalite 20 oz handheld through runningwarehouse.com. I'm going to try it for longer runs and if I don't like it I will try a belt and then just use the handheld for shorter runs. Thanks again!
