Hurricane Matthew..........

Afternoon Everyone,

Well it seems Matthew has grown up into a pretty big and nasty stage 4 storm. He's forecast to travel north over Cuba, Haiti and the Bahamas. Traveling really slow for now. We will have to see what Matthew does along the east coast and any effect on the Magic cruise departing on the 7th, from NYC.

The Dream cruise has been changed to a western, 1 day at sea, Cozumel, 1 day at sea.

I suggest everyone keep a close watch on a weather service, I like weather underground

Also if you have a cruise set, follow DCL for any routing or itinerary changes. Also of course air schedules as well.

GOOD Morning,

Seems Matthew is holding the general northern/NNW movement and slow speed as shown on the track yesterday. Cuba, Haiti and the Bahamas still look to be hit pretty hard.

Most tracks and forecasters are now saying once Matthew is up to the Middle Atlantic and New England states, the storm will be somewhat off shore, but not to far.

it is going to be a long week,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Good Morning everyone!

Below is the link to a 5 day track on Mathew.

https://www.wunderground.com/hurricane/atlantic/2016/Hurricane-Matthew?map=5day

The track is about the same for down south, except Florida is going to get hit harder, with Matthew basically running up the Gulf stream off the Florida East Coast.

The US north east is going to be a problem as well, with the only hope the weather coming in from the west pushs Mathew further east/off shore. The Magic leaves New York on Thursday or Friday.

Anyone on the Magic Cruise hear anything yet from DCL?

Seems pretty sure Florida and or the Bahamas are going to take a hit. The scary part now, is some of the tracks are starting to show Mathew looping around and hitting Florida or the Bahamas a second time.

This is going to be a mess..............to many ships..........ports closed (PC as Bob H pointed out) and Miami and few alternate ports available for various reasons.

Tropical Weather Update
October 5, 2016 – 4:30 p.m.
Based on the projected path of Hurricane Matthew, as well as its expected impact on the Bahamas, Disney Cruise Line is making the following adjustments to itineraries:

Disney Dream

The October 3 sailing of the Disney Dream is being extended by one day, as Port Canaveral will not be available for the ship’s scheduled arrival on Friday, October 7. We are now planning to disembark in Port Canaveral on Saturday, October 8, once the Coast Guard has determined that the port is safe for cruise ship operations. We are working with the guests onboard to assist them with their travel arrangements.
The October 7 sailing of the Disney Dream from Port Canaveral is being cancelled. Refunds will automatically be processed back to the original form of payment used for cruise bookings. Guests are invited to call us at 1-866-325-3905 or 407-566-7032 beginning Monday, Oct. 10, to book a future cruise at a discount.
Disney Magic

The October 7 sailing of the Disney Magic from New York is being changed to a Canadian itinerary, with plans to visit Sydney, Nova Scotia; Halifax, Nova Scotia; and Saint John, New Brunswick. Guests who remain on this revised itinerary will receive an onboard credit. Guests who would like to rebook a future sailing at a discount OR cancel their sailing for a full refund are invited to call us at 1-866-325-3905 or 407-566-7032.
Disney Fantasy

The October 8 Disney Fantasy sailing from Port Canaveral to the eastern Caribbean is expected to sail as scheduled. We will continue to monitor the weather and make any necessary adjustments.
While we always strive to deliver magical cruise vacations, nothing is more important to us than providing a safe experience for our guests and crew. We will continue to closely monitor Hurricane Matthew and provide updates as necessary.

I assume Majesty will be moved to Saturday, also. That would make five ships at birth on Saturday (I know of four, maybe five acceptable births for them there). If Saturday is not possible, then Sunday already has two scheduled to be birthed. My hat is off to the Port Authority and the PC team handling this.

Based on previous storms of this force, CC is expected to have lots of damage and it could be weeks before it is repaired enough to have guests. Time will tell after they have a daylight look at it.

We leave in about 3 weeks for our cruise. If we're not able to stop at CC will they cut our cruise short or take us somewhere else for the day? I was just there in December so it's perfectly ok but just trying to get prepared for the trip.

They will find another port or another day at sea.
