If I remember correctly there is a hurricane simulator at Wonderworks on intl drive, it's more like a booth that you stand in with a huge fan.

I would like to apologize for the statment i had made above . As i now think about it, The exibit is probably the best way to safely educate the public on this subject. Again, sorry for my ignorance as I have not expirienced a hurricane (though i have had one share a name with me ) or even a noticible earthquake (and when one occured where I lived, which is rare, I was in Las Vegas).

Thank you.

Same exact thing MOSI in Tampa has. If this is what Innoventions gets, it'll be a sad day.

No offence Merf, but is the MOSI version so bad? What's wrong with it?I've never been so I'm just wondering what they are trying to put in Innoventions.

No need to apologize... it's what Disney does... kind of like building a theme park about California in... California.

As someone who has experienced something like three hurricanes, multiple hurricane-strength extratropical storms and an F3 tornado, I am not particularly interested in any sort of weather simulator ride. Nothing could come close to the real thing (especially a strong tornado), and the real thing is neither fun nor entertaining.

But it might educate people about what unfortunatly happens in Florida...And that's good.Unfortunatly some people think that a hurricane is just a big thunderstorm.

But it will most likely eduacate Notherners like me who aren't in hurricane country more that the ones who really need the educating. Sadly, from what i see on the news is that the best way that has educated people on this subject is real life, not simulation. I think this could also apply to other weather phenomenon like the possibility of tornados striking big cities and the occasional but rare Midwestern earthquakes.

Education is hugely important, but I don't think a theme park attraction is going to keep people from buying beach-front property or surfing in the storm surge.
