Hunger Games?

The ceo of lionsgate just confirmed that the Hunger Games is indeed on it's way to being a land in some themepark. Has anyone heard of this? I know the IP Is far too dark for disney and they have to many things they are spending money on. Is this the next big thing at universial?

Love the books and films. Wondering how a land would work. There aren't really any set pieces that really scream I must visit this place. The films are all spread out and it takes place in the US. We can see woods, poor mountain mining town etc if we want too. Nothing fun or magical about most of the locations.

I really can't see it working as an entire land but I could envision a ride within the games arena. The rider enters the arena as a tribute and tries to survive in the game.

I guess the capital could serve as the land? And the attraction is guests getting transported to an arena? Or something along those lines.

I read the books and have seen the first two movies. It's an interesting universe, but the forced love triangle, awful first person narration and ending leave much to be desired.

Good. I don't see how any kind of an attraction or ride could be made out of that franchise. I'd hate to see a stellar park like Universal even try, when it could be pursuing better things.

The best I could think of, making it a theme park attraction, is an Indiana Jones-type ride with a Hunger Games layover.

Can't really see why anyone would want to have an attraction about kids killing kids for adult entertainment.

Because most lucrative movie franchise currently going who's rights are not already tied up.

And WDW just made a zippy little kids ride about a girl who gets poisoned. It's all in perspective.

It would actually be an engineering feat to create a whole land where everything constantly shakes - as if you stepped into a movie where tripods and SteadyCam had not been invented.

The filmography technique in those movies seriously requires me to take two Advil. And the story requires a third.
