The daytime fountains make them look worse -- they tried it.

I'm not sure how they didn't realize that originally because it was pretty obvious that was never going to be a workable solution.

Walked in yesterday, and the fountains were on. It didn’t make anything disappear. Didn’t make them look better

then they shut them off after a few minutes. Must have been a test

last night was second time watching the show , this time from Japan to get a better view of stargate, and I like the show.
Crowd response is huge. People dancing everywhere- (which I’m sure was the goal)

once you get past the blatant use of Disney music to promote Disney music, the show itself is great.

now the mind numbing “love us, we are Disney world” self promoting, music they play as you’re walking away - is pretty bad, in my opinion

That only works if your goal is to make your ship/barge a more difficult moving target to hit. Are these barges so hated that people want to torpedo them to the bottom of the lagoon?

The fountains probably broke during testing (pumps clogged etc.) or maybe the decided constantly soaking the works with the fountains would lead to failures during the show.

It does not matter, the fountains wouldn't distract from those ugly looking things anyway...

I dont know why they couldnt have had them submerge during the day then rise up for the show, even if not 100 percent submerged to me there were better options, that would have reached the same end goal.
