Humanoid Robot to play character

I can't see this becoming a reality during my lifetime. I could maybe see them using these on parade floats, where guests do not come in contact with the characters. But there are so many variables with meet and greets that I don't see this being possible or feasible to use.

Still cool to see Disney patent new things.

Using robot puppets, see Lucky the Dinosaur, will likely be the path forward.

This is not going to happen and it's nonsense. I mean, there's no way humanoid robots can communicate people. It's not possible. They should stick with people dressed in character costumes. So, I'm not going to believe it this silly nonsense. Sorry.

Regardless of whether it's Pooh or Baymax I can't imagine the robot being safer or cheaper than the costumed performers we're getting now, if they're being used in that capacity. If they're intending to use them in a show or a ride or a Turtle Talk sort of this, however, this could be really cool. I mean, it'd be cool as a meet and greet, but if they can't have BB-8 rolling around I can't imagine how they'd get one of these two to walk around all day without issue.

The only thing I see this patent being for is adding more "magic" to a meet and greet. For example meeting a Winnie the Pooh who is actually as tall as Winnie the Pooh on screen. One who can move his face and is not stuck on one expression. Also wouldn't rule out talking either.
