HUGE price increase for stroller rentals

Wow, that is really a lot for a double stroller. My husband and I are still trying to decide if we want to take the kids for the first time this fall. My daughter will be 4 and my son 2 at the time we would go. Even though my daughter can seem to walk forever and not complain (especially if she is having fun), I was still planing on renting a double just in case she does want to sit and for the end of the day so no one gets lost in the crowd. At that price I don't think I can. Luckily my sister in law has twins and hopefully will let me borrow her double stroller. If not then I will either bring my single or rent a single.

But they didn't seem to need them 10-20 years ago...I've been going to the parks my whole life and I've noticed a major increase in stroller use the past several years.

Non-issue. I'm sure there were alot of things about being a parent and being a child that were more difficult 20 years ago. That doesn't mean I want to do it that way. You think I'm going to give up my cell phone just because I didn't have one 20 years ago?

Not a personal attack, I just don't think your argument holds water.

If this change does anything, I think it will cut down on the number of double stroller rentals. That might be what they're really trying to do here.

By the way, do we have official confirmation of this yet?

that depends on if it infringes on other people (aka driving while talking on the cell phone)

I have seen people with kids of all ages using strollers who don't seem to need them and the problem is very apparent when trying to walk around them, it can be chaos, especially in certain areas like near IASW and a LOT of areas of Animal Kingdom....its just a massive mess, plus all of the new stroller parking areas that get so full it also affects traffic flow as well.

I also think they should have the 1+1 strollers instead of the 2 wide strollers, that would also help IMO.

Strollers these days are like baby SUV's, they're even made by JEEP!!

perhaps thats why obesity is up and good parenting is down, if your dragging your kid around any where, and they are so tired they cant walk then perhaps its time to go home/hotel for a break!
the reason of one poster who said thir kid wandered, put him/her one a kids lead, you dont need to rent a stroller for that reason!
i agree kids of a certain age need them, to make any time enjoyable, but if your older kids get tired give them a rest.
no i dont hate kids i have one of the things myself, but im was aware of her tiredness levels and abilty to enjoy herself.

The fact that it creates a mess is not the consumers fault. I'm telling you, those strollers are great. Disney provides a great option for parents, they can assume large amounts of people are going to take advantage of it.

Otherwise they should take it away, or jack up the price to lower the amount of...oh I get it now.

To equate renting a stroller at Disney to childhood obesity and bad parenting is just :brick:

Interesting... using strollers is now a sign of bad parenting.

The ignorance that's so prevalent in this thread is phenomenal...

Disney is making more money - shouldn't you be defending that?

Blah blah blah business decision blah blah profits blah blah shareholders blah blah.
