HS Extra Magic Hours

Honestly we were there a few weeks ago and we skipped them. We started out in Epcot eating our way through food and wine until mid afternoon, took a boat over to HS, rode Smugglers Run a few times in in less than 45 minutes in the regular queue, and then back to Epcot for more food.

I’m going this week, plan on hitting TSL first, then RnRC and then power riding my favorite WDW ride, ToT until right before opening and then doing MF:SR, via SRL if the regular line is too long.

We were there on Wednesday at 6 AM. We went straight for Smuggler’s Run and had an advertised wait of 60 minutes but were only in line for 35 minutes. We then hit Toy Story Land and rode everything there followed by TOT twice and RNR coaster twice. Then Star Tours once just for nostalgia (have not been to WDW in 10 years.). We were out by 9:45 AM and eating breakfast just after 10 at Whispering Canyon.

We were there from the middle to the end of September, we visited HS twice in that time with the intentions of arriving around 6:30am. The first time we arrived around 7:30am and the second time around 7:00am. We were staying at Shades of Green both times (stating this as we moved four times during our two week stay), and the transportation provided was pretty bad, at least compared to the Dolphin and such. Of coarse, we found this true of Coronado also. This would be a different conversation though.

Our plan was to stay on Sunset Blvd and Toy Story Land until our Oga's reservation, which was around noon one day and around 1:00pm the next. This plan was because some of the MFSR's highest wait times were during the morning. So on the first visit we were able to ride TOT twice, RnRC three times and TSM twice before crowds picked up. The second visit worked out a little better allowing us to ride Slinky once and the others a multiple of times, we could have road Slinky more but it's not or favorite ride. The only reason we made sure to ride on that morning was because we had someone with us that has never been before, they too were not impressed with it.

Anyway, the Extra Magic Hours were well worth it for both HS and MK, AK was nice also, but even on normal mornings (non-EMH), we never have a problem getting on EE and Dinosaur, usually leaving FoP for FP+ and last ride of the night.
