So, what details do we actually have of the main attraction itself?

It's going to be a coaster right?

FJ is a pretty unique ride system with the Kuka arm etc... so how are they going to top that with 2.0?

Very little on the Gringotts coaster. I'm sure they've got something that will blow us away though. Especially because they have to top FJ, Spider-man, AND Transformers.

At this point we know more about the Hogwarts Express than Gringotts.

I think one aspect that has been discussed in the coaster cars also being motion bases, so they will be able to move on command.

I also heard they might implement some kind of a "freefall" element into the ride where the track drops several feet, similar to what Verbolten does at Busch Gardens Williamsburg..

Main attraction is likely to be the heavily rumored Gringotts coaster. There's also likely to be a Hogwarts Express train which connects the two parks.

I haven't been to Alton Towers in ages so haven't done that yet.... In the dark that'd be pretty scary
It's innovative but nothing amazing. Minimal effects and a drop of around 8ft. Moving such a weight means as soon as you realise you're dropping you are slowing down. It's certainly the highlight of the ride.

are there any up to date pictures of the jaws area? still can't believe it's gone but onward and upward i guess!

Ask and you shall receive. :) There isn't much to see, because the only area you can really get pictures of unless you live in the apartments behind the site or have a plane (hint hint to a few of our members ;) ) is the waterfront area. However, here's a view of what's going on with the waterfront as of the other day.

I'm not sure if they're planning on keeping/reusing the walls that are already there in addition to the ones they're framing/pouring right now, or if they will be ripped out after the new ones are done. But right now the new concrete reminds me very much of individual pilings/footings and not typical walls. Time will tell.

So is the "dropping" section still plausible.... Would lee's plans be able to show a dropping segment, how would one convey that in a drawing?
