I went to the Luau with some friends and we had a lot of fun at it. The show itself was really exciting and included a variety of dances and even a fire dancer (same man who is in FOLK).
The food was ok, but not the best that I have had at WDW. We also went because we had a 50% discount for being cast members. It was worth what we paid when we went, but I wouldn't pay full price for it.
I went in Jan '07 and it was pretty good. Depending on your seats though it can be hard to see. Honestly Ohana's was just as good and more interactive. (both offer a hula lesson, but there's coconut races and limbo at ohana's as well) Plus the food was really good and plenty to go around!
We just went last week and really enjoyed it. The show was good...longer than I had anticipated! (I had to scramble to find another night for our family to see Wishes and Spectro!) We loved the "first batch" of food the most...pineapple coconut bread, pineapple, and salad with a mango dressing! Yummy!:slurp: The next batch and dessert were fine. Our kids are grown and we prefer more of the traditional luau without the kid games at O'hana. (We've been there a while ago.) It was a real splurge, but a nice, special night out there.
If you are up for seeing a dinner show, it is worth seeing as long as you don't have little kids who gets antsy sitting for a long time. The show does take quite a while so it got to a point where we were just waiting to get to the fire dancer so we would know it was about to be over and could leave. The food was simply ok. We are huge Disney fans, aren't we all, and stay at the Poly so we had to see this show so like I said, it is worth seeing at least once.
