How would you redo the Disney's Hollywood Studios lands?

A few years ago, there were rumours that they would be changing the names of the lands of Disney-MGM Studios to be more studio-based, but it seems that nothing came of it.

So, how would you redo the lands of the park, as at the moment, they don't seem to be as well thought out as the lands in Magic Kingdom and Disney's Animal Kingdom?

I would keep...
- Hollywood Boulevard (Great Movie Ride)
- Sunset Boulevard (Beauty & The Beast, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror, Fantasmic!)

I would change...
- Echo Lake (Sounds Dangerous/American Idol)
- Lucas Studios/Lucasfilm Studios (Indiana Jones/Star Tours)
- Muppet Studios (Muppet Vision 3D)
- Backlot (Streets of America, Lights Motors Action, Studio Backlot Tour)
- Pixar Studios (Honey I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set Adventure [retheme to It's A Bugs Life], Toy Story Midway Mania!)
- Walt Disney Studios (Walt Disney's One Man's Dream, Voyage of the Little Mermaid, The Magic of Disney Animation, Disney Junior - Live on Stage!) - although the name might be a bit confusing...

What would you do?

I wouldn't change anything, because something i don't like, someone else loves....

NOT, Bah i hate those answers.

Anyway,

I would add more shows like mermaid, refurb beauty and the beast so it's more broadway style and not panto. I'd have more performances of fantasmic. I would add a monsters inc ride like california and possibly have a rollercoaster like california. I wold add more costumes to the backlot tour. I would replace a few scenes in the great movie ride.

I would add goonies ride!

Lucasfilm Backlot: Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular, Star Tours: The Adventures Continue, Jedi Training Acadamy, THX Sound Show (Sounds Dangerous)
Muppet Studios: Muppetvision 3-D
Streets of America: Lights Motors Action!, Premiere Theater
Pixar Place: Toy Story Midway Mania, Monsters INC Coaster (Soundstage 1), Cars Tram Tour (Studio Backlot Tour), A Bug's Life Playground (Honey I Shrunk The Kids Playground)
Walt Disney Pictures Studios: Disney Junior, Voyage of the Little Mermaid Replacement, Animation Themed Dark Ride (Animation Tour), One Man's Dream, Current Movie Set Walkthrough (Journey Into Narnia)
Sunset Blvd: Tower of Terror, Rockin' Roller Coaster, Tangled Musical Show, Fantasmic!

New Attraction Descriptions

Superstar Television 2.0: The classic guests appearing in popular TV shows is back, but this time more modern shows such as Once Upon a Time, Castle and Lost are thrown in as well as modern technology and a glimpse into the world of how TV is made.

THX Sound Show: Join George Lucas for a behind the scenes glimpse on how sound can make or break a film as well as have a chance to add your own sound effects into scenes from Star Wars and Indiana Jones.

Monsters Inc Coaster: Travel with Mike and Sully to rescue Boo from Randal in this door to door world traveling family roller coaster.

Cars Tram Tour: Welcome to Radiator Springs! Take a walking tour through some of your favorite locations throughout the city, then board your host, a tram, and travel through Radiator Springs on a guided tour with a few surprises thrown in along the way.

A Bug's Life Playground: Shrink down to the size of a bug and climb, swing and slide your way through the world of A Bug's Life.

Animation Themed Dark Ride: I'm not 100% sure which movie to base this on, but replace the current Animation Tour and offices with a brand new, family friendly dark ride based on a classic Disney Animated Film or films.

Current Movie Set Walkthrough: This would be a constantly rotating exhibit where you get the chance to walk through movie sets for current Walt Disney Pictures films. The film would change on a consistent, periodic basis.

Voyage of the Little Mermaid Replacement: Haven't put much thought into it, but replace Mermaid with another stage show with lots of atmospheric effects.

Tangled Stage Show: This one is better suited for the outdoor amphitheater as opposed to the Mermaid theater. It's a live stage show featuring the music and magic of Tangled.

There ya go.

I like your ideas, but I'd change Mermaid, making it an outdoor stage show, based mainly on after the wedding... Mermaid 2, I would change the interior of Mermaid to a ride of some kind based on Roger Rabbit. :sohappy:

I'd chuck American Idol right away, along with half of the backlot.

I would refurb Fantasmic! to remove the Pocahantas section and add one from a more current/lasting movie...maybe Peter Pan or something like that. I would also add showings and outlaw the use of glow toys while the show is going on.

I would expand the Lucas Films area of the park to include an Indiana Jones ride, much like Disneyland, and have better overall theming.

I would expand Echo Lake to be able to handle a World of Color like show.

I would cut down on the Backlot area and expand Pixar Place to include a Monsters Inc. or Incredibles themed ride. I would also add a large character greeting area, like in Toontown of the MK.

I would do a major overhaul to the Backlot Tour and add a ton of stuff (not sure exactly what...more costumes, vehicles, and something really iconic)

I would make the Beauty and the Beast show more like the actual broadway show with people in face costume, not fur character costumes.

I would add more theming to the area with Playhouse Disney and VotLM. I would also build a second theater in this location for a Tangled stage show (just because I loooove Tangled). If this theater was not possible I would put use the Beauty and the Beast theater and put BatB on rotation with a Tangled show; not sure how often they would switch.

I would scrub any trace of Power Rangers from the park.

I would take a few of the Great Movie Ride scenes (Footlight Parade, The Mummy, the gangster part) and replace them with more current movies. Not sure what exactly, but it does need an update.

I would take Lights Motors Action and make it more like a show with a plot: make the stunts part of the plot and add more to make it like watching a live action movie, versus showing how stunts are accomplished.

I would also add a new parade.

Sunset Boulevard is great the way it is: wouldn't touch it.

Wow, I had a lot more ideas than I thought I did! I love DHS, but I think it has a lot of unused potential. I would love to see this park flourish.

Wow I love a lot of these ideas! Especially the one where you get to mess with sound effects in different movies, that may be a lot of fun!

I would keep Hollywood and Sunset blvds themed to the Hollywood of the golden age of the tv and movie industry.
Animation Courtyard would also continue to be themed to Disney and the entrance to BlT would return to the area and give a small tour of the live action side of Disney entertainment which would take over the Narnia building and all the space used for CM in the back having the CM's move to a new area south of the park.

I would make an actual Lucas Land by pushing Indiana Jones closer to Star Wars adding the Indiana roller coaster from Paris and then retheme Backlot Express to fit the area.

Echo Lake would get more trees or some kind of berm between it and Lucas Land and get a more Hollywood feel to incorporate Hollywood blvd. and Commissary lane which would get a pass through making it apart of Echo Lake which will represent ABC and its shows, allowing a replacement for Sounds Dangerous.

I would just level the back of the park and make more room for and actual Pixar Place adding the Laugh Floor and the MI Coaster. The HIStK would be rethemed to the Bugs Life, Studio Catering co would be a Ratatouille restaurant and I would turn the area used for Catastrophe Canyon and LMA into a small Cars Land.

Finally the Streets of America area would a get an over haul turning the area into a small Muppets Land, Pizza planet would become the Carnegie Deli, Mama Melrose would be rethemed as well and I would open the Premier theater again with a new live show and maybe add a Muppet themed ride.

Edit: (I forgot to sum it up) So in all you would have the Hollywood Studios theme with "Old" Hollywood meets the ABC network in the front of the park.
Pixar & Disney studios next to each other like they are in their partnership to the back right, Lucas Studios and the silly world of the Muppets to the far left of the park. Sounds like a Disney Hollywood Studios to me.
