How would you rank the Theme Parks of Florida from Best to worst?

Ehh if you've been to more than the Florida parks, the service at Busch Gardens Tampa stands out as particularly bad. Yes, they don't have the legacy of service and college program like Disney, but neither does Universal, and Universal manages to have decent service. At Busch Gardens Tampa you will watch in frustration as the ride crews take 5 minutes per train dispatch, only because its more important for them to gossip and mess around with each other than operate their ride. No park I've been to across the country is as slow and inefficient and uncaring as BGT.
This couldn't be more accurate. I was at BGT the end of March and coming from Universal, couldn't believe how slow their coaster operations were. It got to the point where Sheikra and Cheetah Hunt (more on that later) were dispatching once every 4-5 minutes. And it wasn't even that the workers were gossiping, they would just take forever to walk the rows and check each restraint. But Cheetah Hunt was the absolute worst. Posted 30 minute wait, took over 90 minutes because they loaded so slowly, and the ratio of FP to standby was horrendous. Awful operations in that park.

Yup.

I recently went to a Six Flags, and while the operations were still not very good, the coasters at least dispatched at a reasonable pace. I can't imagine a park with slower and more uncaring staff than BGT.

  1. Animal Kingdom: Best coaster in Florida, best non-coaster in Florida, two of the best shows in Florida, a bunch of animals all around, tons of hidden attractions. Its the only park in Florida in my prestigious "inner circle" of parks.
  2. Busch Gardens Tampa: The only parks in Florida with a real coaster line-up. Unfortunately, the B&M sitdown loopers and inverts aren't my jam, so it doesn't resonate as much with me. As of now, a B&M dive coaster is the best in the park, which isn't that impressive. Once we get our RMC in 2020 it will be undisputed park in Florida.
  3. SeaWorld Orlando: Mako is the second best coaster in Florida, but it was recently bumped off of my top 25. Besides that, you get through the line-up pretty fast, and you have to start spamming re-rides quickly. Its always great for some day drinking and awesome food though.
  4. Magic Kingdom: Has some awesome rides, but the experience to get inside the park is atrocious, and the worst I've seen at any park. 7DMT and Big Thunder are simply amazing. What I do for rides... It would probably be #2 if it wan't for the unacceptable transportation situation and the extreme crowds in the entrance. Oh yeah, the no alcohol policy is absurd when you have to be dealing with kids underfoot all day.
  5. Fun Spot Parks: I love the cheap alcohol, Mine Blower, and White Lightning. Plus the near death experiences on the skycoasters are fun (afterwards).
  6. Islands of Adventure: One of the only parks that had such a strong promise but actively got worse by getting rid of their best ride to sell their soul for boring Harry Potter screen rides. Most of the rides are pretty good at this park though.
  7. EPCOT: Not much in the ride department, but its charming, beautiful, and a great place to get hammered.
  8. HS: Such an incomplete park looking for its identity.
  9. Universal Studios: Why so many screen rides??? Why???? It has four of the worst rides I've ever ridden at ANY park. That's a special feat.

I think that the double loading stations help out Shiekra and Cheetah Hunt immensely. We all know that its going to take forever to dispatch a train, and there's nothing that they can really do about it. But at least when they get two trains out, they get more bang for their buck. I can't entirely put my finger on just one thing that the Busch does wrong, but its the accumulation of a lot of things. Keep in mind, they have more extreme rides, so its not as easy as just speedwalking by and watching people pull up on little safety belts. The cubbies really destroy any chance of not stacking as well. Its absolutely mayhem trying to watch everyone climb over the train put their stuff yards away from their seat, and climb back in. And bumping into people along the way. They need to get more firm with people and get rid of the stupid cubbies.
