Anybody take a late October trip last year? I went last September and it was a little busier than previous Septembers I have been so I am going this October from the 26-31 just wondering how the crowds and weather were.

I was at WDW in 2007 from Oct. 20-26, and the crowds were fine Monday - Wednesday, but noticed an increase on Thursday and Friday, Oct. 25-26, before I left. I'm not saying the parks were dead Monday - Wednesday, but they were light, if you want to use the term.

Mid-October is a nice time to go -- tail end of the hot season to just before the cool down. It rained on the Sunday I went to the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. There were some early downpours, not too heavy, but steady, then ended with a light drizzle for the rest of the night. It also rained two days later on the Tuesday at night, for another Halloween party. But that storm pushed all the heat and humidity, and for the rest of the week it was "cooler" -- high 70s, low 80s, overcast, high 60s, low 70s overnight.

Not too bad, though. But the only thing -- I stayed at Shades of Green, across the street from the Polynesian -- and the Palm and Magnolia were shut down because of the PGA tour event preperations. Next time I'm going to plan to go end of September or early October.

We have gone every year for 11 years from the Friday or Saturday before whenever Halloween falls and come home the Sunday after so we are there 9-10 days. This year was probably the worst weather as far as rain. It poured on 10/30 when we were at the MNSSHP and rained during the day on and off for a couple of others. Otherwise, every year the temp low 80s, no humidity and the nights are 65-70. PERFECT weather. It really doesn't matter though, a rainy day or any day in Disney is better than a day at work! :)

I have gone this same week for at least 5 trips since 2000. I found 2007 to be more crowded than I have ever seen and the temps were upper 80s/lower 90s. Humidity was nuts. There was a lot of rain early on in the trip kind of ruining the Food and Wine Festival for us. I didn't let it stop us, but I have to say it was bordering on one of the worst trips we have taken due to the crowds and heat.

But don't base weather on 2007. In 2006 a cold front moved in and we had highs in the 50s one day. Weather is difficult to determine.
