How to improve Kali?

Am I the only one who doesn't like the theming? To me it's ugly and depressing. I like the idea of Jungle Book. That would be so upbeat and fun!

Isn't it supposed to be? It's built as a pseudo-propaganda piece against deforestation.. you know.. evil people are ruining the planet for those cute little forest bunnies..

Yeah I know, but I still don't like it. Everything should be pleasant in the Disney Bubble. ;)

The best thing about this kind of ride is the chance of getting wet and that part doesn't come close to bluto's IOA. More water!

This.

It's themed well enough (especially the queue) but the excitement factor lacks for me. It's not boring but it could do with a higher chance of being soaked.

Even though Kali is far too short, are there visual additions that could help it pack more of a punch, and perhaps move it up from a C-ticket to a D-ticket? Finally, I suppose there is no economically feasible way to lengthen the ride itself.

The actual length of the flume is fine, it's the speed at which you travel is what makes it seem short. Kali is by far the fastest river rapids ride I've ever ridden. Even if there was a way to slow it down it would seem longer.

I'd say Kali needs to be made to not get someone soaked. I don't ride it because i don't want to get completely wet.

But that's the whole point of a river rapids ride. Scenery is a bonus!

What I'd really love to see is for DHS to take out the dated Indy show and put in an enclosed Indy-themed river rapids ride (much needed to cool off) utilizing the raft elevators technology (to save space) used on River Quest at Phantasialand.

Does anyone know if this is possible?

Would it significantly affect capacity?

I'd be all for this if feasible and not problematic in terms of capacity. It would also allow for the inclusion of more scenery (e.g., a temple you go under, etc), that riders will get a chance to actually see.

Would the ride system have been similar to the JP River Adventure at IOA?
The answer to improving Kali is Tiger River. As stated no amount of added scenery can correct the ride's short length or make it feel like a disappointment next to the Tiger River concept. Kali isn't an ugly ride and already has appropriate scenery for what they were going for, there's just not enough room to improve it without making it larger. It needs the blessing of size (and budget/ambition). Here for example should outline the problem-

They'd basically have to rebuild the ride from scratch to get it in order. Make it a lengthy water safari going alongside actual animal exhibits as originally intended. The disorienting ride system in Kali also makes enjoying scenery hard as well. Tiger River used more raft-like boats rather than the generic circular boats currently used. It is also said that the ending of the ride would still have utilized a rapids segment with some drops for a big finish. Sounded like a good idea to me.

The queue is amazing, what are you talking about?

I couldn't agree more; I love this queue. My whole family actually went to this ride specifically to take pictures of the queue line. My Dad who always complains we take too many of the same pictures at Disney, and he went nuts here. There's so much to look at and most people miss the real beauty of it. In fact, we had tell several people to go ahead of us because we were just there for the queue. We never did ride Kali; we just walked back up to the entrance when we were done.

I'm pretty sure Avatar opening will signal the end of wide-scale investment in AK given the investment going to the studios and the desperate state of Epcot.
