How to get to the proposed 3rd gate...

Allright, so I just had an idea for how guests can get to the proposed "3rd theme park" or whatever it'll be, personally I'd like to have a water park there, BUT...

Walking in from Downtown Disney, you'd walk past DCA & Disneyland. You then get in line for the turnstilles for the new park. You'd then board a monorail, with one departing every 5 minutes. That monorail would take you to the land of the new development.

How do you like this idea?

I love the idea of a monorail to the 3rd gate. Unfortunately though it would spread everything out more ala WDW. I'd take it though!

Southern CA doesn't exactly have the same 80-95 Hi s that Orlando does year round. The area is MUCH to valueable to dump a water park there that couldn't be used at least 3-4 months out of the year. It works in Orlando because they do have 2 and shut down one in Jan and one in Feb because they know that nobody will be going those months. I think any kind of year round park will be better than a seasonal park. Raging Waters closes at Labor Day. Soak City is only open weekends after Labor Day and closes before the last weekend of September. It would be a HUGE WASTE to put in a 1/2 yr park. SoCal isn't that warm year round. It can be sweater weather at night through large stretches of the summer even.

I just don't see where Disney has room to build another theme park! A water park I can see, but it will never happen! Like said above, the weather isn't right!

They'd use the strawberry fields/ CM parking lot for the park.

If and when this new park is built (which will most likely be in the above location), I'd like to see them extend the monorail over there. I wouldn't like to walk, take a bus, or drive overthere.

Ive never been to DL but I think that they should build Wescot because from what I can see DL lacks the types of attractions that Epcot has!

WDI should worry about fixing DCA and making it a stable park before even thinking about building a 3rd gate. If anything groundbreaking for a rumored 3rd gate should be around 2013-2015 when DCA's Phase I and II makeover are complete.

I totaly agree with every thing that you said, but it's still nice to think about it. Say if they did make the third park Wescot should the park icon be a geodesic sphere that houses spaceship Earth or. Should it be some other futuristic structure that houses a new ride? The other question would be the world showcase would it be the same countries or a new set?

Well, yeah it's nice to think about, just like WDW's 5th gate. It seemed to me like some of the answers in this thread were asking if it was greenlit or just rumors.

My thought on the 3rd gate is that it should be something original. We shouldn't have a clone of EPCOT, DHS, or DAK, even DisneySea. Jay Rasulo and his cloning bonanza has to stop.

Yeah as above posters said, I don't thhink the weather is right for a water park. When I was there in June I barely went out in the resort's pool due to what the CM at the front desk termed,"June Gloom" She said we were arriving just at the start of it. It was chilly every night and the days didn't get overly hot. Actually during the day it was GREAT weather, I wasn't sweating buckets like I do some days in Florida and it was pleasent.
