How to get to DTD from Hollywood Studios

Hi,

I am trying to figure out the best/quickest way to get to DTD from Hollywood Studios. We are thinking of going from the park to DTD for lunch and then back to our resort for swimming at night after some time down at downtown. I am not sure how easy that is, it has been a long time since we have been to DTD.

Anybody know?

Thanks!
Mike

While it is typically frowned upon, the fastest free way is take the bus to Saratoga Springs and walk over. You can also Walk to the boardwalk and take the bus or take the bus to any of the Port Orleans resorts and then take the boat to DTD.

The absolute fastest way will be to take a cab.

thanks for the reply. Do you know how long it takes to get to the nearest resort on foot? i am trying to decide if this is even something we should be plan or not. the original plan was to go from the studios to the resort and swim after lunch then that night go to dtd for dinner but my kids wanted to swim at night. just not sure if switching is going to be long of a commute.

The walk to the Boardwalk might me 10-15 minutes tops.

Getting to DTD right now is a pretty long process under the best of circumstances. The construction is not helping that in the slightest. If you are pressed for time, a cab can get you there fairly quickly depending on the traffic. If you have to bus it, plan for and hour or more travel time.

It is only really frowned upon by those staying at Saratoga because it fills up the buses with guests not staying at the resort.

You will almost always find cabs at the front of the parks and resorts. While I do not look for them on every trip, I have never not seen one when I needed one.

ok great thanks for the replies. i will discuss this with my family and decide if we will change up our plans and do the original afternoon swim plan. from the wilderness lodge direct, how long would you expect to get to downtown?

Thx!

Still plan for about 45 minutes to an hour. It should be less than that as the shortest route from WL to DTD is the "back way" that the buses typically go out of their way to get to, but it is always best to plan for the worst.

a couple of years ago we took a Taxi from DTD to Hollywood Studios, it was a short ride and only cost $10, not sure of rates these days but it was quick and easy
