How to get a window table at Ohana

In another thread someone mentioned tipping front desk staff at hotels for a better room, and host/hostesses at restaraunts for a preferred table. Is this indeed a proper practice at WDW, and if so, does it work? How would one go about attempting to get a prime window table to view Wishes at Ohana? Suggestions??

Simply ask the Host or Hostess when you arrive for your Priority Seating!

The cool thing about O'Hana is that you can see out the windows from every seat!

And approach the podium with a smile and be pleasant. Don't be forceful when asking. That's all I did and my wish was granted. I did have to wait an extra 14 mins after the PS times. No biggie. Delicious food. And it was m first time seeing Wishes.

The last time we ate at 'Ohana we had a 5:00 PS. We checked in early and were seated very quickly. The first groups seated were all seated at the windows.

The time of day always makes a difference. I agree with Swimmom that going early is a good idea and PS is always a good idea. We have also been lucky getting window seats later in the evening. On our last trip we got a window seat table around 9:15 without PS. It was not crowded at all as most of the kid friendly activities had ended.
Good luck. Hope you enjoy it.

I don't think that is the case. We have been at tables that I don't think we could see out the windows. I could be wrong though.

But I do agree that if you ask nicely, you are likely to get a great seat. When I want a particular seat/area, I usually make it clear that they would be doing me a favor and that I am more than willing to wait a little extra time if necessary.

If you are willing to wait you can get a window seat. Just get there early, tell the host/hostess you'd like to wait until a window table opens up, and they will meet your request.

In January we did exactly that, probably waited about 40 minutes for our table, and had a gorgeous view of Wishes from our seats.

You are not wrong on this account. Our first time at 'Ohana we were seated where we could not see out any windows whatsoever.

I am sure that if you provide the host/hostess with a brief history of President Andrew Jackson, you'll get immediate seating anywhere you desire. :animwink:

Depends on what time Wishes is.

Let's say Wishes is at 8. I would make the Priority Seating for 7:15 and I'd check in at 6:30 and request your table. Then even if you have to wait the whole 45 minutes for your table, you will still be seated around 7:15. Then you will probably be finishing your main course around the time the fireworks start so you can watch them over dessert!

I would say its better to get there early rather than late. If you get seated a little too early just eat slowly and stall until the fireworks start.
