How to deal with this Southwest problem

Kind of confusing, but here goes:

My family of 5 (Myself, wife and 3 kids - 10, 4, 4) are flying from Providence to Orlando next month on Southwest. No idea why this happened, but because of some credit SW owed us for a previous flight we took dropping, they ended up scheduling us with 2 different confirmation numbers. The 1st one has me, my wife and 1 of the boys. The 2nd on has my other 2 boys. For any of you familiar with SW, you know that you can only check one confirmation number in at a time. So, we could get A 46-48, and then A 62-63. Obviously, I don't want to board the plane without 2 of my kids. Of course, SW does family boarding, but that's after the A group, and then there's a chance we might not be able to sit together.

How would you handle this at the airport?

I would say to just get to the airport really early and let them know that you have younger children with you so you'd appreciate if everyone would be able to sit together.

You don't really know if there even will be a problem, because you haven't checked in online yet, but you're asking for advice. And I thought I was a worrywart.

Doesn't it make more sense to ask in advance as opposed to waiting until the last minute?

Open Firefox with Confirmation A.

Open Internet Explorer with Confirmation B.

Click Check-in at the same time and cross your fingers. :)

Otherwise, if you get separating numbers just stand together. In the last few years of southwest I've never seen people worry about being in the exact order.

Everyone just kinda got roughly in their designated number area and that was that. Never had a gate agent check the numbering either.

Of course, you cannot get A 62-63, because that would actually be B 2-3, but I digress.

Forgive me, but you are making up things to worry about. There are plenty of actual problems in life to worry about without making stuff up. The answer here is easy...2 computers. Check-in at virtually the same time. And if you get separated in number by a few, you switch numbers so that you and 2 kids board together, and your wife and other kid board together. Whichever boards first will need to save a couple seats for not more than a minute or two, and you're fine.

And, if it all fails, the only problem is you sit with two of your kids and your wife sits with the other. Them's the chances you take when you fly southwest.

You must not have read post 4 I made on this thread.

I realized after my initial post it wouldn't be a problem as they simply take the boarding passes at the gate, not check ID's.
