How Often

My wife and I got back from Disney in early March. This was our third trip over about a 12 year span. We had a magical time. Every time we have returned home I have suffered from the post-Disney magic blues. My question is, how often can you repeat visit before it seems to be less magical and more familiar.

We go once per year. I think the time of year you go plays a part in how much you will enjoy it. For example, we used to always go on Spring Break. This past October, we went and enjoyed ourselves much more because there were lesser crowds. Getting burned out, not by Disney, but by the crowds, is what gets to us.

Currently we try to go about once every year. However, back when I was a Florida Resident, it was more like once a month (sometimes more, fi you don't count not entering the parks). It never lost its magic, as there always seemed to be something new to discover.

Being that we live only 1 hour away, we visit WDW about twice a month (at least) and more often in the summer when the kids are out of school. It is nice with an annual pass to just go over in the evening for a few hours like we did last weekend.

We average about 1 weekend trip a month and if anything there is more magic for us. When you go very frequently you don't feel compelled to do "everything" like when we would only come a couple of times a year. We will plan to a few things and just follow our nose for the rest of the trip. You also learn the ins and outs of the parks as well as all the little perks and special events that aren't publicized.

Since 1998, we've taken the family a total of 14 times, from 700 miles away, after expanding from 2 kids to 4 total. And trip #15 is less than 4 weeks away. You gotta love a job that sends you to seminars in Orlando...

I will be taking my 16th trip to WDW in Sept. I bought an annual pass last April and went to WDW 6 times since then (I live in Pennsylvania or it would have been more!) I am not getting an ap this year (much to my dismay,) but I am taking advantage of the free dining package from 9/29-10/7/06! I NEVER get sick of Disney;however, I do get sick of explaining to family and friends why I go so often.

I go at least3 times a year. I have about a 2 and half hour drive form my house.
Use to take day trips but it's nicer the stay the night.

It's my happy place, all the cares of the real world leave when I'm there. I have gone to parks and not gone one ride just walk around the park. (That's when the Annual Pass comes in handy)

Don't think the Magic will ever leave. 34 years of going and still love it. (First visit I was 9 monthes old don't remember that much :animwink: )

I try to go every year if i can if not every two. For me personally if I go every year i want and I get excited going. I know if i went multiple times a year I would not be as excited.

What a lovely sentiment! Whether it's Disney or not, I hope everyone has a place like that in their life.

.....and keeping with the subject of the thread, we go to WDW once a year.

Personally, I have been to a Disney theme park every year for about 15 years. (Disneyland, and Disney World)

That's pretty good, considering I am only in my 20's.

I have no intention of breaking this chain of Disney addiction, here's hoping that I always have the money for it!
