How often?

This may have been asked before, forgive me if it has.

How often do you go to the parks, if you live out of state?

Do you jet down for a weekend occasionally?

Or, are most of your trips extended 4 days or more!

The reason behind this question is, I'm thinking of planning a quick weekend for a couple days of the Magic Kingdom with my little girl.

I have gone down by train for extended weekend visits, but usually I go down once a year. If I could, I'd be there every weekend. Personally, I'm planning on taking a short trip in October to WDW for just a few days. I think short trips are well worth it...gives you a little time away and allows for you to have a dose of magic!

I go atleast twice or maybe 3 times on average in a year. And sometimes my family drives north of Fl for a while then when coming back we would stop for a day in a park and it is still great even if it is one day. Like this year I think I went 5 times and may go atleast 2 more times before the end of January.

Most of my trips tend to be 4-5 days (give or take). But part of the convenience of having an AP is that if friends are going to be at the park, or some event is going on that I want to experience, I will go down for a 1-2 day trip. Once I went down on a Monday and came back the next day. Things I would not have been able to do without the AP most likely.

The Train, now there is a thought!!

I can't really afford an extended vacation now, but in a few months I want to go down for a couple of days. I'll prob stay at a value resort, the new one...Pop Century is it?

Thinking also of purchasing a 4 or 5 day park hopper ticket since they never expire and using them for quick trips to get my Magical fix!!

We usually make two trips a year, a full week in May and a long weekend in November, assuming I can find a cheap airfare. Once, I did "jet down" for a weekend, I wanted my mom to experience the Millennium Celebration. After suffering through a flight delay of over two hours, we had just about forty-eight hours at WDW, but we enjoyed it enormously. We saw everything we wanted to see and somehow never felt rushed.

I say, go for it!! :sohappy:

we usually try to get to Disney once a year for about 9-10 nights. A few times my husband & I have gone down for a weekend alone, and In August my daughter and I are going. Southwest has some great air fares and I have the annual pass so the hotels are pretty cheap so it is almost cheaper for us to go there for a weekend than somewhere in our own state! The only problem with a weekend getaway is it is too short!! I don't want to leave 9not that I ever do! ) You dont get to do a lot either, so you have to pick your activities more carefully.

Growing up we'd usually drive down from Upstate NY 1-2 times a year and spend a week in Florida and do Disney a couple days each trip.

I got married 5 years ago and in that time we've done a land & sea Disney cruise (flying out of NY), I've gone down on my own for a few days (husband was deployed, I hung out with my grandparents) driving from NC-FL, last fall my husband and I left the kids with my parents in NY and flew down and did 4 days in Disney during the military promotion, and last week we drove down from NC and did a week in Disney.

I think this last week was the longest I've ever spent actually IN Disney while on a vacation.

Well, I'm 16, and have been to Disney over 20 times! Can't say I'm anywhere close to being tired of it. lol I used to go two or three times a year as a child, but now that I'm in highschool, we only go once a year, and when we do, we stay for around 14 days. :D

We go for a longer stay once a year, and one year we also got in a second shorter trip. If I had the opportunity to go for even a day, I'd do it. So, I would go for it. Talk about giving your daughter a memory to last a lifetime.

Although this really doesn't apply to me because I live in Florida, about 4 hours from Orlando, I thought that I might as well contribute.

We go to the parks about 3 times every year. But since we go so much(I don't think we go enough, but oh well) we'll only stay for a weekend.

I try to make at least 1 trip a year for a full week. This year, we are going twice for a week each time. Last year, we went for a 4-day Memorial Day/Graduation Party getaway.

The problem is my wife doesn't have as much vacation time as I do so we take vacations on days that she has. The remaining days that I have, she either has to take off without pay or I just have to mope around locally.

I have a feeling though that we will spend alot more time down there in this year since I have an AP and since Southwest came to Philly!

Usually my family and I go about every five years, but beginning in 2001, we have been going every year, but I think that will stop because college starts in August.
