How much to buy Disney?

If I bought Disney, I'd only hire members of WDW Magic for management roles-the management meetings would either be extremely productive or devolve into screaming matches.

If i get to call myself "First Lord of the Admiralty" and bring an air horn and a can of silly string...i'm in. No salary needed.

I don't think you'll find better 'management' than Iger. Even as a 'private' company. Cap from $48b when he became CEO to $262b+. That is absolutely fantastic work for the company, regardless of what you (or anyone) thinks of decisions made.

As far as purchasing TWDC, the only companies that could afford to do so are the tech giants -Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Apple. None of which would be taking it private. There aren't any private investors or firms that have the ability to drop the $325 to $350b that would be needed to finance such a deal. You'd have to have 4 or 5 of the largest firms get together to make the purchase, which just isn't going to happen. Disney is too large to buy now for anyone.

Right...you are correct - all that is true.

But taking it private eliminates all that money stuff you put up there...that would be the point.

Disney will never be taken private...too many money pimps like to "turn the stock out"....but a merger or buyout is always a strong possibility anyway.



Now...while i have you...i notice you have been on the post office wall regarding recent developments with a certain "big ticket" franchise...
