How much spending money?!

I know this is the million dollar question (literally!), but can anyone give me a rough-ish idea of how much spending money I'll need for my trip to Orlando?

It's two adults and a 10 yr old, staying on International Drive. Already got the passes, planning on eating breakfast at the likes of Ponderosa, surviving on snacks in the parks and then eating evening meal at the likes of TGI's, Sizzler, Bennigans etc, i.e mid-price restaurants. We want to eat fairly well and not scrimp as it's a once in a lifetime holiday, but also don't want to end up spending a fortune.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

We always plan on $35.00 - $40.00 a day per person for food. Most of the time we use less and have more to spend in the gift shops. eating off-site is cheaper, but at WDW it is expensive. Hope this helps!

Well, I would ask when are you going? If the parks are open late you might want to stay and enjoy the fireworks, illuminations etc. Is your 10 yr old a light eatter? our your spouse? Because what we do sometimes is split an entree or at the counter service order the kids meal. Also another tip is to eat at the buffet's late in the day before they switch from Lunch to dinner prices, same food, higher prices at dinner. We also eat simple breakfasts, does your off site hotel offer a free breakfast? If so take advantage of that, then bring your snacks for your 10 yr old, then eat a big dinner (late lunch) and have your snack late in the day. We enjoy a sit down meal, a lighter dinner (hamburger/hot dogs/ chicken sandwiches etc. counter service style.). No one goes hungry and we don't spend as much.

We normally have a large breakfast, snack lunch in the park and then an evening meal. There are four of us (2 adults & 2 teens) and we reckon on around $100 per day.
