Hey guys, hoping for some advice!

Me and three friends are ging to Disney World this saturday:sohappy: We are staying at Pop Century and are there May 12th to the 19th. Im just wondering how much spending money you think we should bring. This is the first time going with out my parents so I want to make sure we are prepared. We are staying at Disney the entire time and using magical express, so we wont need any money for transporatation, just food and stuff like that.

thanks for any tips!

I'd give yourself $50 a day for food... if you just do counter service and no sit downs you could easily knock that down to $25. :)

If you're a souvineer junkie... go accordingly...

If you're over 21 and drink... beer's run $4-7 depending on where you buy them from, and mixed drinks run $7-11 depending... so however much you drink ... again... plan accordingly.

I suggest going to the food court and getting some granola or a box of donuts and eating breakfast in your room... that'll save you tons. :)

have fun!

thanks so much for the quick reply! Theres only one of us over 21, the rest of us are 19 and 20, so that will save us money on beverages. It will be wierd being illeagal to drink while were there, since were old enough in Canada. I guess I'll have to hold off drinking around the world at Epcot for a couple more years.

Thanks again!

with a family of 3...I usually like to take $1,500-2,000 for spending. $60 a day per person for food. I usually have a danish and coffee for breakfast...Turkey leg or foot long for lunch...then a nice sit down dinner...

have to have a Disney bar mid day...

Id say 50-80 per day for food. Thats what we take and if we ever get low on cash we still have the debit card. We only eat 2 meals at the parks. Breakfast is usually just a granola bar and milk.

If you're only taking cash (no credit or ATM cards) I would suggest taking around $100 / 125 per day for food and everything else. Better too much than not enough

My hubby and I usually plan on $60 a day. (We rarely spend it- but we always have it.) We usually plan a really nice dinner for the end of the week with the leftover.

BTW- If you're using cash- here's something we do. We always take extra $ for the "just in case" scenario. We keep a few hundred in a sealed envelope for emergencies. You'll have it- but it won't be so tempting to dip into.

Are you on the dining plan? If so I would only take $60 a day if you see something you like. But If you have to pay for meals I would say $120 a day but if you dont plan on any sit down dinners I would take $100 a day.

If you can book the dining plan I think thats the way to go. $50.00 to $60.00 a day for food is what I budget for. I do the food court for breakfast and counter service for everything else for the first few days, a few Mickey Premiums in between for snacks. I've found I can then afford at least one nice sit down dinner (try Liberty Tree at the MK) or there are many great places at Epcot. T shirts will run you $20.00 plus, sweat shirts around $50.00, very few things under $10.00 so you can plan accordingly. My last trip (Aug of last year) I set aside $50.00 a day for food, and $500.00 for souveneers and I did fine on an 8 day trip. Have fun.

For 2 adults and 2 children we spend $35 for each fast food meal. For a sit down meal it's more like $80. Ideally we eat in the room for breakfast and do 1 sit down and 1 counter meal a day so $115 per day for food for our family of 4.

Souvenirs about $50 a day. There's no need to spend more than that.

Old Key West... it'll be my first time staying there, but I have no need for the kitchen since we have the dinning plan. Anyway, to the OP, since your a young buck who is not of the legal age to drink yet (at least not here) I'd say $80 a day, if your buying food, $50 if your not. I mean what could you possibly spend money on besides food, and a few souvenirs? Whatever you choose to spend, have a great time, and enjoy your youth, soon you'll be drinking around the world in EPCOT, and that's something to look forward to (if your anything like me) Rock on my man

We take between $125 to $150 per day for food, snacks, and spending for souviners. We take that in cash and then have a few hundred dollars we set aside in the checking account to spend on anything extra special or any sit down dining we may do. We usually only do 1 character meal and maybe the Fantasmic dining option. We mostly eat counter service or at the food court in the hotel. ( We like the values, mostly for this option).

We are not big breakfast eaters, except for the little one. By the way, there is 3 of us (2 adults and a 4 yr old). Hope this helps. At times, we end up snacking a lot. Gotta ride the rides!!!
