I'm just curious as to how much money everyone is planning on bringing with them to hold 'em over until we get our first decent paycheck...

I'm poor, but mi madre has offered to loan me 200... do you think that will be enough?

$200 is borderline I think.

You'll be ok until you get your first paycheck. The 2nd and possibly 3rd are going to be the hardest weeks. That 2nd paycheck is going to have 2 weeks rent taken out so most people don't get that much/if anything that week.

Depending on your shopping/eating habbits, you might run low on money that week.

most people I know take at least 200-300 and a credit card with $0 balance to use the first week

I'm bringing what's in my checking account. Right now it's at about $800, plus whatever I make over my Christmast break. Of course, I'm also going to Vegas, so I'm sure I'll gamble some of it away. But I'll go with what I have, which is better than nothing.

Same here. I will be saving all my money since I have a longer time than all of you before I go. I should have tons of money. I have a feeling I'll need money, because a few of us are going to go out to eat a lot!

You guys are lucky, since I'm graduating, I get cut free from my parents when I leave for WDW.

sidenote - while you will have double rent taken out of your second paycheck, your first one will have no rent taken out. this way, you get a little more money up front, to get yourself settled in your new apartment.

I will basically be on my own while down there, but I wasn't allowed to get a job this fall because I needed to be avalible to take my sisters places on the drop of a dime. So they give me all the money that I need, as long as I'm doing good in college, and don't complain about getting the girls.

I however, was SHOCKED when at dinner my mother goes "David (my dad) how are we going to get her money for gas" I was like WHAT?! My mom and dad might help me out with the gas, that'd be great! :sohappy:

I totally feel your pain Jill. My parents wanted me to start making payments on my car too. And I was like, "I'm making 6 bucks an hour, I don't think so!"

So we can be extra poor together!

Not to mention I'm over $20,000 in debt from stupid student loans. My parents just thought it was great idea for me to pay for some of my school!

Jill, it's okay, I'm sure we can find other things to do for entertainment. We will be having extra fun without everyone else, hopefully! Either that or we will be really pathetic!

Yeah, I'm very lucky, and Brent, I don't need to do that, if my dad even THINKS that I'm lacking something, he'll give me some money. I don't have to pay for college, but I agreeded to go to Community for two years. It makes it very simple.

*does the going to WDW dance* :sohappy:

Yeah, other than the 200 from my mom, I'm on my own... and she won't let me turn my phone line or internet off while I'm gone, because she's convinced that it'll help me get a taste of the "real world"... screw the real world... I'm only making 6 a freakin' hour... :p
