:veryconfu We aren't going until September and I was wondering am I taking tooo many bags?
I was thinking of taking the following...
1- HUGE (wheeled) Bag for Me & DH
1- Med (Wheeled) Bag for HollyLynne - keep in mind she is 16
1- Med (wheeled) Bag for Amanda - keep in mind my Nikki will be turning 13 while at WDW
1- Small (wheeled) bag carryon - with extra change clothes, bathing suits, bathroom etc. meds.
packed - small duffle bag just incase.
1- small duffle bag with towels, watershoes, etc. - (do I even have to bring towels for the waterparks?)

On plane...
I will be carrying my laptop case, just because I am at WDW doesn't mean I don't have to work at 5 am, and the bag with all the snacks.
DH will take the small wheeled bag.
HollyLynne - I have no idea
Amanda - She is planning on her Tink Bag and her backpack.

Too much? :brick:

One bag to check and one to carry-on should be fine for everyone!

If you plan on buying a lot of souvenirs to bring home, you can even bring an extra empty suitcase along that you can fill with goodies and then check on the plane when you fly home.

Make sure your "HUGE" bag is not over 50 pounds or the airlines will charge you to check it and it can get expensive! That might be where you and your husband each bring a bag and you will have the extra space you need to anything your purchase on your vacation!

HAVE FUN!!!

Trust me I know that one. I always make sure that the bag is under 45 lbs on my home scale.

My problem is that I travel so much that I feel like I am always packing.
3 pairs of shoes is really nothing.. 2 in the suit case, one on your feet.
I will be packing DH - I have already warned him...
I have already started to replace some of his shirts. Since I have no suits to pack (I usually take 4) there will be room for his stuff... plus all I need is summer clothes, I will pack 1 sweatshirt just because and only the pair of jeans that I have on... DH will only wear shorts.

Amanda is pretty easy too. I will go through her stuff and weed things out.

I had a business trip to Bermuda last summer and I let her pack herself and she packed 14 pairs of shoes (flipflops). She took at least 20 different outfits and 4 bathing suits... she not only took over the HUGE bag, but 1/2 of my suiter...
Not this year, I told her the one medium bag or go naked.

But since we have to drive from the Pocono's to Newark I want to make sure that all our luggage is going to fit in the trunk of the car. The only good thing is that I am off the day before we fly out, and we are going to spend the night at my mom's house the night before, I really don't want to drive from the Pocono's to Newark that morning... it's almost 2 hours, would have to leave by 2am

There are 4 of us and we each take a large (not huge) suitcase and a carryon. I don't know how long you will be there, but remember that there are laundry facilities in the resorts. Skip the towels as there is no need to bring them.

We each pack our own clothes, swimsuits, toiletries in our suitcases and shoes...one pair of sneaks, one pair dressy sandles (for the girls) and our aqua shoes. Its really only 2 pairs packed because we travel in our sneakers and the rest go in our carryone with our meds. (I carry the kids meds with me) They have their mp3 players, a book and a small travel game or cards. My kids & DH use a backpack and I have a large zippered totebag. Remember that everything has to fit in the overhead bin or under your seat. You can also bring a purse so I make sure I use the largest I have.

As for those souveniers, they can always be shipped home via UPS. We have done that for years and it works out very well. Don't overpack and anything that you may have forgotten can be bought locally. Don't travel with snacks, buy them once you get there.

I have been going to WDW for so long now, I have a packing system to ensure that I don't overpack. I lay out a pair of shorts for each day I am there, match a top to it, put a pair of socks & underwear with it. I will then add two extra outfits and underwear just in case, you never know if you end up getting stuck an extra night. I pack one extra pair of sneakers or sandles, pj's, swimsuit, hats, tolietries and it is a done deal. It definitely does help to lay things out, no one needs 4 swimsuits and 7 pairs of pj's.

Load the empty suitcases in the car now. That way you know what to use.
All of our suitcases fit in the trunk of our Impala or our van and the kids hold their backpacks with them.

Not sure where in the Poconos you are, but it takes just about as long to get to Newark for you as it does for me here in upstate NY!

Please......

There is just husband and me.

We bring:

2 very large suitcases (both 45 pounds)
1 medium suitcase ( we always need the extra room on the way home!)
1 vanity suitcase
1 large carry on with all the stuff my husbad likes to have on the plane
2 camera cases (video and camera)

Can you really pack to much. I've just stopped worrying about it. I used to try and pack as few suitcases, now I just don't worry!

As for clothing...... for a 10 day trip. I pack one full out fit a day for each of us, and at least 5 evening outfits. Yes, do we over pack, of course.......but's vacation!

We do the same thing! I also add something a little dressy (Capris and a blouse or a sundress) in case we feel like going to a somewhat fancier restaurant one night.

If your budget will allow it, consider staying at a Disney Vacation Club resort. Even getting a one-bedroom suite would give you your own washer & dryer. This way, you can pack less, throw a load in the washer in the morning, and the dryer when you return. You'll have a little more space and privacy than if all four of you were going to share one room, and you'll have a full kitchen to prepare some meals if you want and that would save you some money, too.
