how many MNSSHP would you go to on your first time to WDW?

We are thinking of going to the halloween party twice whilst we are at WDW, do you think this is too much? what other special event would you do instead?
Thankyou for your help

The party is great fun!! Why don't you go once and then decide if you want to go again during your trip? Unless you are going to be there right before or right after (or on) Halloween when parties typically sell out, you should be able to get "day-of" tickets.

Can you clarify what you mean by other special events? Do you mean tours?

Hoop Dee Do dinner show is a fun evening, it gets very good reviews (more so than the luau). We enjoyed it. I have not done any of the tours because I like to keep the "magic" haha!

We went once our first time there at the party and on our next trips we planned the party twice each time. We don't go to the parks on the day of the party and in fact buy tickets to the other parks based on how many times we are going to the party. So party day we rest, eat a good mid afternoon meal and get to the MK at 4 PM, stay all evening and enjoy the party and rides. If you plan right and buy your tickets based on early entry to MK, stay all 8 hours it is really a bargain to attend the party, in my opinion. Last year we went down and only attended the party twice, never set foot in another park!

The party is great and I wouldn't miss it, but I would only go once if it was me.
(Unless you want to get lots of rare character autographs like the Seven Dwarfs in which case you will be spending a lot of time on lines for autographs, and you might want to go back to experience the rest of it.)

We've been once in 2012. Went mainly for the fireworks, parade and trick or treating. I think for your first time just go once, then decide if you want to go again.

My husband is insisting on three parties for our September trip. I am insisting that he pay for them b/c 2 is my financial threshold for the extra fun. But to answer your question, if it's your first time, I recommend only booking one up front. Some people love the party like my husband an I, while others think it's is a rip off.

It's all a matter of personal preference. I couldn't see doing it more than once in a trip, but others like going 2 or 3 times. I like @Tuvalu 's idea of going once and then deciding if you want to try it a second time. I would, however, pay attention to the popularity of the days you're considering as some nights are more popular than others and are more likely to sell out.

On our first trip where we did the party we did it twice. We liked it so much the first time that we bought tickets to the next party. If you can afford it, I would suggest going twice. We're going three times this year.

Its such a great time! I have only done it once a trip in the past, but who says once is enough?? Me, personally, would spend the extra $$$ on another experience, but it ultimately comes down to what's best for you and yours.

I would go with the party and try to make a dining reservation near the Magic Kingdom that night for dinner so that you are in the general vicinity when the party starts. I second the Hoop de Doo, my family loves it. They have the dessert party which I think you said you have and the new Sparkling Illuminations party in Epcot.

Have a wonderful trip!
