How many fast passes in a day

The most fastpasses we have gotten in one day is 11! 11 rides in one day and its being downgraded to 3? That's what annoys me.
And the 3 fastpass thing is 3 per person not in total right? I'm 99% positive it is but just to confirm.

Yes it will be per person. And I agree with you on being annoyed that it is only 3 per person. We've gotten upwards of 10 in a day before and now with this new FP+ going down to 3... Lets just say I'm not impressed that with this we will see less attractions on our trips now. Oh well. More waiting in line + less time to spend money on souvenirs and snacks = less money for Disney!!

It is 3 per person but since we get there at opening and usually stay till 9 or so we usually get more than 3 per person. We go at slower times in the year where is you use the FPs right then you can get on tons of rides in a day and still have a sit down meal!

Sigh.... I guess we will just have to see how it goes. We are going in June and Novemeber of this year and now sure if we will have it for June or not.

"Karen W.: Just got back from a short trip to Disney World where we got to try out the FastPass+ and the new entry system. Both worked wonderfully. Pre-scheduling our FastPass rides using FastPass+ made our day in Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios so much better than in previous visits. For once we did not have to run first thing in the morning to an attraction to get a FastPass, only to run back to an attraction to get in line before things got too crazy. We actually got to enjoy other attractions in the park because we did not have to wait in so many lines... As an added bonus, we could still get regular FastPasses for rides that we did not pre-schedule on our FastPass+ card."

Was that just for the test?

I think the eventual plan is to do away with the regular Fastpass... I think honestly this is were I see Disney will be getting a ton of complaints. 3 is not many (As others have echoed, I've gotten as many as 11 and my average is probably 6 or 7). Not to mention that the way they do it, you can only reserve one for the major attractions. Sorry but I don't want or need a Fastpass for Philharmagic Pirates, Haunted Mansion. I need only for the popular attractions that dont have the huge capacities. But the way they do the groups, I might have no choice. If they remove regular Fastpass I just see a lot of problems and complaints. I know I will be. I really want Fastpass+ to fail... Though knowing Disney, they'll continue to have or even if there are a lot of complaints

That was just for the tests but maybe disney will change there minds since so many testers are loving the combo of both? Who knows at the point. I would love the combo of both

Paper FPs are available during testing periods, but I believe they will be discontinued once FP+ actually rolls out.

And I have a hard time believing this will get us on more rides/attractions. Instead of running to, let's say, TSM to grab a FP, I'll be running there to get in line. Doesn't seem like a great advantage to me. It will cut down on the running, but instead of running we'll be standing in line.

During peak times this isn't going to work well from what I can see. The lines are still going to be backed out the doors (even further now). And with the longer lines, they will still have to be stopped for FP+ people. This entire thing doesn't make sense to me.

I'm trying not to judge until I use it, but it's kind of hard not to.

Boooo - Hisssss ..... as one who utilizes FP me thinks my enjoyment factor has just decreased immensly.
Another piece as I understand it is that you cannot use the FP+ on the same attraction again in a day, so if use a FP to ride SM in the morning, I'm locked out, I cannot get another FP in the afternoon for SM if they are still available. :(:mad:

Disney copied FP from Uni's EP. I expect they are now attempting to copy (to the best of their ability) Uni's FOTL system. If they are, they won't tell anyone they're going to take the FP machines out, but then they'll do it. They'll reserve FP for people who stay in the hotels (or possibly the more expensive hotels only) and sell a reduced version to everyone else.

Time will tell. :)

Oh my.... They are clumping the attractions so you have to pick from groups. There are only 3! And you can't use 2 for the same attraction?!?!?! I am liking this even less.

Ugh.....

I am thinking that they will give resort guest extra FB in levels of resort you stay at. So everybody starts at 3 per day( even non resort guest) then Value resorts get an extra 2 per day.mods 4 per day, deluxe 6 per day, DVC 8 per day. This is what they will use to get people into the resorts and buying into DVC then they can kill off free dining that the had as a resort perk in the past.

this is one of the reasons my trips to universal aren't nearly as frequent. I'm an ap holder for both, so if I am able to go,it's usually for a few hour trip, not an all day trip. A few hours meaning 3-6 depending on the day. The more time I'd have to spend in time waiting in line, the less likely I would be to make more of those few hour trips. That's what kills me about universal. And I'm not about to go spend 20-30 on Express Passes every time I want to go visit the parks.

I think they lost a LOT of locals (and some people who prefer to stay offsite) when they did that. And many of them started heading over to Disney. I wonder if Disney is going to write off the locals, too. It's a really good deal for people who stay in the Uni hotels, though.

I won't buy the EP all the time, either. But I can't lie...have bought them a few times.

The sad part is, going forward, you're probably going to need FP+ for attractions such as POTC and HM, especially on busy days.

FP+ reduces the wait time for one person by distributing it to another person. At least half of an attraction's capacity will be allocated to FP+. Simplifying the math a bit, if everyone was waiting 20 minutes without FP+, guests with FP+ might wait only 5 minutes while guests without end up waiting 35 minutes.

FP+ is a zero-sum game.

I just love next gen... Least it'll be fun hearing about all the complaints Disney gets

I mean, if it's especially crowded, then yeah. But I've been to Uni maybe four or five times in the past year, whereas I go to Disney probably every 7-10 days.
