How many Audio-Animatronics did Epcot have in 1984?

Ive been very interested to learn about Epcot’s history which is why I bought the 1982 book “Walt Disney’s Epcot Center”. It was the last great hurrah of Walt Disney Imagineering in terms of originality, big budgets and a huge cast of Audio Animatronics. Does anyone know the exact number of A-As the park had in 1984, attractions include Spaceship Earth, Horizons, World of Motion, El Rio de Tiempo, Journey into Imagination, Universe of Energy, Kitchen Kabaret, Listen to the Land and The American Adventure.

Well, Listen to the Land and The American Adventure have only changed slightly, if at all, since they originally opened, so you could still count their number today (does Listen to the Land even have any Audio-animatronics? I can't remember). And if you consult any recently made video before the close, other than the addition of Ellen, the number of dinosaur animatronics didn't change throughout the life of Universe of Energy.

Depending on your definition of "Audio-Animatronic", El Rio de Tiempo didn't really have any. More like motorized figures. None of them displayed any kind of complex motion or sound synchronization.

Dang. I wish AAs were still as amazing as they were back in the day.

Imagine if AA, CBJ, COP, or heck even Tiki Room was just as advanced as say the animatronic in Navi River Journey, or Rocket in Mission Breakout. God that'd be so fascinating to watch. Specifically on the AA shows.

Yea Epcot was such an amazing feat back in the 80s: anyone know the imagineers that worked on epcot, it was a mixture of veteran imagineers who worked with Walt along with some new imagineers who started making names for themselves, here’s what I have so far:

1: Epcot: Marty Sklar, John Hench, Harper Goff
2: Journey into Imagination: Tony Baxter
3: The Land: Rolly Crump
4: Wonders of Life: Rolly Crump
5: Innoventions and The Land 94: Rolly Crump
6: Communicore: Marty Sklar, John Hench
7: Kitchen Kabaret: Rolly Crump, Jeff Burke, Steve Kirk
8: Horizons: Tom Fitzgerald
9: World of Motion: Marc Davis, Ward Kimball,
Claude Coats, Ken O’ Connor

Anybody have much knowledge of Imagineers who worked on epcot?

@marni1971 Do you know how many animatronics WDW had in total whenever it had the most in it's history?
That would have to be 1992 with the additions of Splash Mountain, The Great Movie Ride, Star Tours, Muppet-Vision, Cosmic Rays, Cranium Command and Maelstrom. The only AA attraction that was gone by this time was The Mickey Mouse Revue. I’d have to say there was at least 1000 AA’s.

Without digging into it, I'd have to say that year would have to be close to the peak, if not the peak, of the AA "population".
