How long to check in

Depending upon which resort you are going to, it takes 20-30 minutes form airport to resort. Also depends on whether you are renting a car, and from which company (on or off property). Shuttles can take a while to fill up & make several stops, both at the airport and at various resorts. Check-in usually takes us about 10-15 minutes. We typically make a stop at Super Target on the way for provisions. From touch-down to being inside the park usually takes us a total of 2 1/2 - 3 hours for everything.

I can't tell you how long from airport to Disney as we drive up from South Florida.

Concerning check in. Depends on what time of day you are checking in. We usually get there around 8 or 8.30 am and usually walk right up and we have everything done in a few minutes. Just to say we already have our Passes and PS, so don't have to ask a lot of questions. Just the room please. Then by 9 am or so, the lines get busier.

A lot also depends on the hotel. In most of the up scaled hotels I have never seen lines that long and they move pretty fast, unless they get that one quest that has a thousand questions or just don't understand. Have been behind this type of person before. At you ecomony hotels the lines seem to be longer, but usaually during peak periods they have a second person standing by the line making sure you have all of the info you need, so the lines will move faster. The earlu evenin around 8 or 9 pm is also a good time. One of the busiest is around 3 to 4 as this is when the rooms are available.

I can't answer the airport question, because we drive. BUT it only took about 10 mins. to check in at our resort. We were there at about 7 AM tho. They are pretty quick about moving the lines along. :)

I've waited nearly 1.5 hours for the airport-resort trip using shuttle and rental cars. Now we have a car service waiting. It costs only about 75 round trip for everyone, and it gets you there ASAP. Nothing is more aggrevating than being so close, yet so far away.

Don't know about the airport part. As far as checking in. It also depends on the person checking you in. There was one time not too long ago that while my parents were checking in I had enough time to walk around and video just about all of the polynesian before they were through. I don't know if this was because it was a trainee or what. It didn't bother me though I had fun with the cam corder. I guess it would also depend on the guests in front of you. There are some people who don't have everything together by the time they get up there. I guess it takes all kinds

I think the longest we have ever waited for check in was 20 minutes...and to check in has always taken 5-10 minutes or less. Total check in time, with waiting in line, checking in and getting to the room has never been over 40 minutes for us. we have flown into MCO as well as Sanford...MCO was about a 25-30 minute ride, depending on the resort we were staying at and Sanford was about an hour.

If you are going to be renting a car in Orlando, it is much faster to rent a car from one of the (6?) agencies that have facilities IN the airport. Alamo, National, L&M, and a couple of others are there. You don't have to shuttle out to an off-property facility, making things much faster & more convenient. Return is also a breeze this way.

We have taken the Mears shuttle several times and I don't think we have ever waited more than 30 minutes. You can be on a bus which is stoping at different resorts, so it is hard to determine the time. We were on a bus with several stops, but it took less than a hour, we were the second stop. Our last trip we were on a small shuttle which was stopping only at Caribbean Beach and it was under a hour also. I guess it depends on how busy they are. It is much cheaper than renting a car for your whole stay, and you probably will hardly use it. A taxi or car service will get you there quicker, it just depends on how much you want to spend. Good Luck and Have Fun!!

The drive from the Airport is about 30 minutes. If you use Mears you could wait 30 minutes for a bus.

As for check in it depends on the day you check in. I found out if you check in during the week it is about 10 to 20 minutes. If you check in on a Friday a little longer, and Saturdays are the worst. Saturday is the big turn over day. I checked in once on a Saturday and I was staying at Carribbean Beach and we waited over an hour just to get to a window to check in, then it was only about 15 minutes and off to our room.

Well, I can't speak to the Airport thing, but as far as check in goes:

(1) Most important is what time of year you are going, and what resort you are checking into. For example, if you are checking into an All Star Resort, be sure to check all the national cheerleading championships, as well as the Pop Warner Championships. When we checked in, we waited about 20 minutes in line, having gotten there around late morning.

It seems to work in waves with check in. Now having said that, I'm sure those waves are related to the check in times at each resort, but it seems to work throughout the day that way, as we tried to pay attention to that when we were coming and going from the Resort.

Trust me...Friday nights are the worst for C/I. Followed by Saturday, Thursday, and Sunday. Friday is usually a constant line of at least a few people.

Sunday and Monday are the worst C/O days. Take advantage of express checkout and put a CC down on the account.

3 pm is busy, nights are busy.

Check in can take various lengths of time depending on the person and how the computers are acting up.

If you get there too early, you might not have a room ready. CM's should try and find a ready room for everyone so that can take some time as well.

We have taken Mears before, it takes a bit longer to wait for a bus and there are other stops. Town care services are nice, they will also take you to a store (30) min and that can be really great.

Last trip we rented from National. It took less time then the town car (no lines, in an out real fast. Alamo, using the same cars etc... had about 20 more people in line in front of you, but that could of just ben a group or something.)

I swear the drive seemed to go faster when it was just us. (we had been so many times we knew what we wer doing and no small talk with the driver about how the ride was.) If you haven't been before I say take a town car, that can reduced stress from traffic and directions.

Check in is 4:00. We always take the 1st flight out of Detroit (between 7:00 and 8:00 am) and are always in our room checked in before noon. The only time our room was not ready was a stay at CB and there was a convention. Our room wasn't ready until 6:00 at night. For the most part we find checking in early is a good way to get a close room. Even when we checked in at VWL on New Years day, our room was ready. (but it was the futherst walk out and the dreaded "dumpster view room." However it didn't bug us much, I didn't even notice the dumspter. We were happy to have a room right away.)

OK, Time to get specific - Saturday afternoon check-in at the Carribean Beach Resort in November.

I assume that I will be leaving the Atlanta (or maybe a little further South) area by 9:00 on Saturday morning and pull into WDW by late afternoon.

Security will be waiting to escort you off property. :D

I'd say 20 minutes tops for waiting in line.
