How long is not long enough?

You know I've just read a thread relating to your Disney vacation and the first thing you've got to decide is "How long should we go for? " .Our first trip in 2004 was a two centre vacation, first week onsite with a 5 day hopper, and second week offsite. Then in 2006 we one the exact same, except with a 7 day park hopper. But in 2008 we decided to stay the full 14 days onsite. As we did in 2010, and this year also. But that first 14 day Disney vacation we wondered to ourselves is 14 days inside the bubble too much.Well to be honest,no it's not, there's so much new things in the two year gap,so many things we hadn't done,or missed because we were too busy elsewhere. So what do you think? I know that certain members here are doing three weeks:rolleyes: and wondering what the average American vacation to WDW is?:)

Yeh agree,we got a taxi in our last trip,2010, to do Harry Potter and a one day one park ticket for three of us plus taxi fare, well,I don't want to think about the cost, and my sons bl....magic wand still hasn't worked. We get a 14 day ultimate ticket for the price of 7 days, and it's wall to wall entertainment and fun at WDW.:)

We will be in Orlando next month and I priced out Universal for one day for 7 of us. Its not going to happen!

I think after 8 days with 5 kids (teenagers) we were almost ready to get home. Not because we were tired of Disney but because we were ready to bring the kids home and go back by ourselves. ;)

I am going to differ with conventional wisdom and say that there is no such thing as "not long enough". I have definitely stayed too long before. The magic starts wearing off after a couple of days. But short visits leave you wanting to come back for more.

Iam shocked! you say the magic wears off after two days,Iam sorry my friend,I totally disagree. If I was losing that magical feeling after two days, then a Disney vacation was not for me.After 14 days our magic is still there.

I should have said "a few" instead of "a couple". By the end of Day 3, I'm starting to feel it. Day 4, we usually take it easy. By Day 5, every one is pretty ready to pack it in. If we stay a full week, there's a good chance we'll get sick of the place.

We like going for 7 days. By going Sat.-Sat it gives us 6 full days and Sunday to have to recuperate/wash clothes to go back to the boring land of work again.

Next trip we will stay one extra day and that will give us another built in rest day for our then almost 3 year old.
