Not sure if this is the right thread or not, since it pertains to shops, not necessarily a particular park although, of course, many shops are IN the parks. But if this is the wrong forum, I trust someone will move it to the correct forum.
Anyway, on our previous trips on property, for our two kids, we went to the Christmas shop at DTD and had Christmas stockings embroidered with their names on them and then had the merchadise delivered to our resort.
We have a baby coming in another month or so, and we plan our next trip in May 2015, when the baby will be about 8 months old. Currently, we are planning on staying off property, so shipping to our resort is not an option. So when we purchase a stocking for the baby, and have her name embroidered on it, whether at Downtown Disney, or Ye Old Christmas Shop, how long can they keep it until we are ready to pick it up, if it isn't ready by the time we leave the park that day (or by the time we leave DTD, as the case may be)?
Typically, we do DTD on our very first day, then we don't go back for the rest of the trip. Would we have to try to be back by the end of business on that day to pick up our stocking? If it isn't ready by the end of the day, how long do we have to pick it up? The next day? 1 week? 2 weeks?
I can't remember, does Ye Old Christmas Shop sell stockings and embroider them? If they do, how long can they hold our stuff until we must pick it up? We are planning a 10 day trip, with two visits to the Magic Kingdom. Tentatively, our two MK days are exactly a week apart. If we purchased it on our first MK day, could we stop in a week later on our second MK day to pick it up?
If they cannot hold it past a certain time, do they offer to ship it to another park? For example, since we may not be planning another visit to DTD, could I tell them that we are going to be at Epcot tommorrow and they could send it to guest services (or some other designated spot) for us to pick up when we go to Epcot?
I know they offer the option of shipping it back to our house, but I may not want to spend the money for shipping.
