How long before trip to buy my AP?

I'm a FL resident about to buy my first AP.

I read something about waiting in mail for the magic pass and then having to activate the AP in the ticket window upon my first visit.

I just wanted to know if I bought my AP online tomorrow, can I start visiting the park tomorrow? Or is there something that I have to wait after I've purchased it online?

I just bought my Disney AP today. You must activate the AP in one of the guest services kiosks before you enter the parks. It says I can pick it up after July 14th so I assume you have to wait a day to use them.

Took about 2 weeks for the standard magic bands to arrive, but you can pay to get them in the parks. In fact you can pay them for anything to get it faster, they love taking my money!
