:xmas: How are the parks open in December? I have a trip scheduled from December 14 - 19, and according to the website, most of the park hours are from 9-7 or 9-8 (with an exception of Animal Kingdom which closes at 5!!!)

Some days are noted with Extra Magic Hours. The parks don't close at 5, 7, or 8 WITH the extra magic hours do they?? I couldn't imagine them closing that early!! How do we know how late they are open with the EMH then?

If MK is closing at 7 during December, it is most certainly due to MVMCP. If a park has evening EMH, it will be open for up to 3 hours after the posted closing time. So if DHS is open until 8 and has evening EMH, it will be open until 11 for resort guests.

Animal Kingdom closes at 5 because that when it starts to get dark and all the animals go in for the night at that time.

As for MK, Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays the park will close at 7pm as those are the nights of Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, which is a separate hard ticket event. The hours on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday will very with Saturday usually having the later closing time.

Epcot will be open until 9:30 every night to allow for the final showing of the Candlelight Processional to finish before Illuminations begins.

I don't know about the hours for DHS as this is a morning only park for us.

As for Extra Magic Hours, the park hosting the evening extra magic hours will remain open for resort only guests for 3 hours AFTER the posted park closing time. If MK is having Extra Magic Hours and the park hours listed state it will close at 8pm, the Extra Magic Hours will run from 8pm to 11pm and resort guests wishing to partake of the extra hours will require a wrist band to indicate that they are resort guests.

Hi there all, I heard this question a few times when I was in the World last, so just to clarify a resort guest is someone who is staying at one of the participating resorts/hotels for Extra Magic Hours. It does NOT mean someone who has come to the park on that day specifically. As I said I heard this question a bunch of times on my last trip to WDW. Belle

Oh, I may have just found a flaw in my schedule for December...:xmas:

SO. If MK closes at 7 on a night that MVMCP is scheduled, then my hiney has to be out of there and can't plan on seeing Wishes that night? :lookaroun I have to go look up the dates of MVMCP that coincide with my trip I think. OR plan to go to the MVMCP (which we hadn't, as of yet, we wondered if it was too much for the kids that late). What time does that party start?

If i remember correctly, if MK closes at 7pm due to MVMCP there will be no WISHES that night.

The party starts at 7pm and goes until midnight. You do not have to stay the entire time, but be warned once you leave you can not do back in.
