How late can you stay in the parks once the fireworks are over?

CM's have told me before they never "make anybody leave". Ropes go up at the entrance of every land though. The Castle continues to change colors through a lot of the night though and I also love sitting on the balcony and watching them put all the monorails up too. Wouldn't you say there's probably almost never a time that someone isn't in the MK? Just seems like it would take forever to clean it and stuff like that.

To be honest you should stay in the park as long as possible after the fireworks even if you are forced to just wander around and the rides are closed, because you will have such a huge line of people waiting for the monorail, ferry, or buses that you'll be very likely to be standing in line for at least an hour ( unless you've decided to start heading to the exist before the fireworks are even over)... so you might as well stay in the park or air conditioned shops until the lines get shorter.... Where would you rather be waiting? In a massive shoulder to shoulder crowded line or somewhere in the park.

.......which is why Disney isn't hurrying people to the exit.

As already pointed out, fireworks doesn't always mean park closure. But when park closes, they sweep the park from the edges in. So CMs will clear their ride/shop/restaurant and then slowly start to funnel people towards the front. They won't force you to leave, but they won't let you go back deeper into the park. IE if you leave Splash Mountain, they won't let you go back to use those bathrooms. And then once Splash and Big Thunder are cleared, they will stand at the bridge and not let you into that park of the park. And then slowly moving you towards the front. @WDWFigment is well versed in the process, sometimes spending a few hours in the park post closure.

The only park I have ever seen them really hurry people out of is Hollywood Studios. The others you don't start to notice the sweeps until around 90 minutes after close.
