We are coming in January :) (usually go in February) and I hope Splash will be operating. We'll bring jeans and jackets as well as shorts and tees for the weather can be different one day to the next. I think we will miss the holiday decorations because we arrive on the l0th.

Splash will be down on the 4th of January until.... I hope the weather is manageable on January 2nd, that is the day I will ride. The holiday decorations start to come down the 4th as well. I will be there from the 1st till the 15th... I am looking forward to less crowds and being able to take in the magic with my boyfriend.

If you got the name wrong on the plane ticket then you had better call the plan company straight away - I don't know how things work for domestic flights in America but I know that many people are stopped from traveling internationally because the name on the ticket does not match the name on the passport!

The only problem with calling the airline to change the name is that they will cancel the ticket and you will have to rebook the ticket. If it is a non-refunable ticket, you will lose your money.

This actually happened to us two years ago. They incorrectly put my son's last name as mine, not his legal last name which is his fathers'. I called the airline and since our tickets were non-refundable, they put a note in the manifest. Luckily, he does have my last name as his middle name, and the letter of consent for him to travel included his passport information and the spelling mistake. Phew!

Anyway, we had absolultely no problems. I would leave the name alone since Theo is obviously short for his proper name and he would have ID anyway.

OKW is great. I've stayed there twice now, both times in a 2-bedroom unit. I don't know how many people you'll have, but there's plenty of room for everyone. The master bedroom is nice and large, the second bedroom is bigger than most typical hotel rooms, and the living area is nice and roomy. The kitchenette is really spacious. The OKW rooms are the biggest DVC rooms, I've heard. There are 3 tvs in the room, one in each main room. The master bedroom can lead out onto the balcony, which is also fairly roomy for what I've seen at WDW resorts. The couch in the living room also pulls out. There are 2 bathrooms, one is a typical hotel bathroom, the other is two rooms, with a dedicated shower and whirlpool bath. Also, having your own laundry facility is really handy if you're staying for a while. OKW has a nice, laid back feel to it, and the main hub area is cool too.

I would definitely call the airline and find out about changing the name. Names on airline tickets must match exactly to the name on the passport!! We have a last name that sometimes has a space between the first two letters and the last 4, although on our passports there is not a space - we have had difficulty with the names on the ticket - using a space- and the names on our passports - with no space. We were told they have to match exactly!! Don't take the chance of getting to the airport and getting a surprise - get it straightened out beforehand. Especially since you are flying from one country to another, they may be more strict.
Good Luck

The Marathon Weekend starts on Thrusday 01/08. Race activites are limited to WWS. Expect crowds to be arriving Thrusday. Friday is the 5K at AK, which should be completed and clear by the time the park opens. Saturday is the half-marathon (6:00 am start). Race starts and ends at Epcot. The only issue this usually creates is ealry morning transportation to MK and Epcot, depending on your resort. The race uses World drive between the 2 parks and traffic gets backed up, or busses take longer, alternate routes. Things should be cleared by 10:00 am.

Check the weather before you leave. I've been down for the marathon the past 4 years. In 2006, it was in the 40's. In '07 it was near 90.
