How has Toy Story Land (TSL) held up?

You don't expect ride vehicles to pretty smashed up after only 6 months.

The tails are missing, springs are cracked, paint has worn off from both Slinky and Space saucer vehicles, railings had to be replaced. It shouldn't be in this state already.

I guess you’ve never been involved in the industry or closely followed new attraction openings. None of that is uncommon for new builds. Problems will be addressed, warrantees will be honored, materials will be changed.

These do seem a little extreme compared to other attractions/lands when they opened but I'm sure you're right. Can't imagine WDW will let it stay that way.

I bet you don’t return a kids ball if it goes over your fence.
Nice, old person reference, however, I would return it, but, it seems like there are others here that would be to lazy to do that. I mean they would have to go out and bend over and pick it up and then (gasp) throw it. If they can't walk back against a crowd, I fail to see how they could possibly conjure up all the energy required.

TSL at night is very aesthetically pleasing, especially toward the tail end of the night, when it's not very crowded. During the day, however, it's too damn packed, there's no escape from the sun, and it doesn't really offer much visually, in my opinion.

I'm a fan, but I very much prefer it at nighttime.

I think TSL never held up from opening day.

It's a lazy, cheap, give up land that should have never been approved in its current form.

No covered queues?
Alien Swirling Saucers?

Really, just a huge disappointment and puts that much more pressure for Star Wars Land to be incredible.

I was there over New Years and it still had that “new land” look and feel to me. I agree the land is much better at night. More energy from the lighting effects of the rides and less crowds.

The land would be much better if they had built the original concept art. Indoor meet and greets, indoor gift shop, and indoor counter service along with the extra theming for slinky dog dash. The land would have been even better if they had added one more spinner like a clone of the critter carousel going into dca.

IMO it was OK. Built with children in mind and I'm not a child. Slinky was fun but just ok as far as rides go. On our next trip I am not going to make and EXTRA effort to get on. If I get there early enough to get on without to much of a wait I will. If the line is too long, I won't.

I enjoyed TSL. I loved the theming and my daughter (3.5 at the time) was enthralled with everything. And the rides were fun.

That said, I don't understand why anyone would say there's nothing that could be improved. I feel like they put a lot of effort into decoration details and not enough effort into functionality or customer experience. It's great that the garbage cans look like they're made from legos, but that's not a fun detail when I'm melting in the sun. A lot of the issues in TSL could have been solved in the design phase if anyone had asked themselves "if I were walking through here, what would my experience be?"

Even though Disney should have been prepared with tougher materials, no one can tell how somethings going to hold up under the massive crushing crowds brought in to experience a new attraction. Guests have been rougher and abusive on the parks and rides in comparison to past years. Sure theres wear and tear showing up and although we want everything to remain spic and span, you cant expect thousands and thousands of guests moving through wont affect the material.
